I finished the frozen hm soup batch thankfully!
Into the freezer though 1 spare loaf of hm bread as I made 2 but will be eaten later in the week.

I even made the chickpea and root veg tagine finally - though it needs something else, not sure what... made far too much so probably have 4 spare portions so will think of something extra to add when I reheat them. Will probably put them in the freezer and eat 1 every few days so they are used quickly..

Apart from the spare root veg I didn't finish in the tagine, all veg from last 2 weeks has been used up. Had small veg box today - planning to make some more of the lentil & veg pies this week and got purple sprouting broccoli and watercress to have with them.

Still no chocolate :( Going to start wasting away...

I'm going to start hitting up this thread a bit more often, we have full cupboards (only 2 mind as we're in a house share) and our freezer drawers (again 2) are full too and yet we still end up buying more, getting takeout or staring blankly at it all not knowing what to do!
    On the up :D

A good idea is to make a list of your cupboard and freezer stocks, and keep the lists handy (stick them to the front of the cupboards and freezer); it helps with not buying things you already have, and is a good way to come up with recipe ideas just using stuff you've got.

I think I will have to start using this thread.
I sorted out my freezers a couple of weeks ago, they were well organised and I knew where everything could be found.
then I bought some chickens from Morrisons (half price) some pork chop offers and chicken offers from Lidl and then some YS bread.

The freezer is just as bad as it ever was. I got a chicken out for tomorrow, i had to empty loads our to get to the bottom. When everything was put back, i really could not see how a chicken had ever been in there.
So I really need to cut back on what I buy. I will look at a "make do March" and see if i can make some space by April.

Sausages are coming out today for TITH and some 3 veg mash that I froze and peas. I have broccoli in the fridge and onions and potatoes in the fridge as well. That is dinner for today sorted and the rest of the week looks like this, all from stores except a bag of salad. (copied from another thread)

Last week until pay day for us so it really is a make what we have in week :o
Oxtail stew with dumplings- Already made and in the freezer, just needs heated and dumplings added.
HM pizza and salad- Bases already made in the freezer and have mozzarella in the freezer as well.
Spicy chorizo mince wraps- I'll make the wraps today and the mince mixture ready to heat up during the week.
BBQ chicken wings with grattan- I have wings in the freezer I can marinade and I have 2x ys grattans in the freezer also.
Toad in the hole- I have the sausages in and plenty of potatoes, the veg can come from the freezer as well, I have 3 veg mash and sprouts and carrots/peas in there.
Chicken dinner- I have 1 full chicken left, I'll make some yorkshire puddings and stuffing to go with it and veg from the freezer and mash.
LO chicken curry with turmeric rice- I have everything in for that.

We have plenty of oats and dried fruit in for breakfast and I am just about to make a couple of loafs for the week for sandwiches and toast.

I'll also make a quiche for lunch today and some cheese and onion pasties for during the week. We have some chicken soup in the freezer for lunches as well and I'll make up some egg mayo and cheese savoury for a couple of sandwich days.

Snacks we have a load of crisps and I'll make some twinks and some cheese biscuits today. We have plenty of dried fruit in and I'll make some HM yoghurt today as well.

I best get cracking, well after this coffee anyway :p:rotfl:

With the beginnings of Spring, I think it's time to start eating up some of the winter store I had laid down, in anticipation of a repeat of last year's heavy snows, which this year, haven't come! *touch wood*

Some of the stuff in my freezer is OLD. Probably getting on for a year in some cases. I don't have any problems with eating stuff that's been hanging around for a while (I just make sure I'm super thorough when cooking", but I think the time has come!
Because it's fun to have money!
