Eating out of the freezer and cupboards challenge - part two
Comments
-
Gosh - it seems so strange that it is now Sunday again, a week since I had my new fridge freezer delivered and I don't need to list the items that I have left to use up.
It is not yet full - I haven't cooked anything to freeze yet, it just has purchased frozen items in it for now.
The fridge is full though with not only food I have bought but food bought by my houseguests too. We are all buying food which we share (except for meat which I don't eat and which they are responsible for, including the washing up of any pans etc)
My friends have been here for 3 weeks now - it seems strange to have visitors after living alone for such a long time but it seems to be going ok.
Not sure that I will have much reason to post now, but I will post occasionally and keep a keen interest in everyone else's posts. Not Rachmaninov

Hey kirri and Mrs-Moneypenny, Just want to say thanks for the short crust pastry idea and recipes. I gave it a go and besides the fact that I think I put in a but more than 2tbl spoons of water which made it a bit 'wet' I think it was a good effort. Hubby enjoyed the change although said that he would have preferred pastry on the bottom to make it a proper pie instead of just the lid - can't please them all. I even had an inspiration moment with the left over dough the next day and added cheese and made some biscuit type things. I think I am going to have to get into this baking a lot more although not sure when I will have time to do it with work etc.
Gave the fridge a good old clean today, took everything out and washed all the shelves etc. While putting everything back in it I realised that I have more fresh veg than I thought so no need to rush to the shops at the start of March.
Chicken was taken out of freezer last night for a roast tea tonight (will also be having some of the above mentioned veg). Heading to my mums farm next weekend and will be returning with more home grown beef, pork and lamb that I still have stored in her freezer - good job she isn't charging us rent lol.House purchased November 2013

I stayed overnight at a friend's house last night so no freezer movements either way yesterday. At least nothing new went in tough.

In to freezer - casserole.
Out of freezer - gammon.
We had HM sausage casserole with dumplings + jacket potato + cabbage/carrots. Phew - that is the last of the large white cabbage.
Three tubs of this casserole to go in the freezer.

In the freezer has gone some grated cheese.
I have today made burritos, using the last of the brown rice, I had 2 burritos for dinner along with some mixed veg and garlic beansprouts. 2 was too much, next time one is enough, I will put 2 in the freezer, did sprinkle some stripped chicken in with half, burritos are so yummy.Lose 28lb 3/28lb
