In the end - last night - Mr F got some pork + stuffing out of the freezer - in went some of the Devonshire Pear Pudding. We had that today - was rather yummy.
    No freezer movements today.
We had roast potatoes/parsnips + roast pork + stuffing + cabbage/carrots + gravy for dinner.

I found the recipe here -

    http://allrecipes.co.uk/recipe/23420/mashed-potato-cakes.aspx

I don't peel potatoes - just mash after cooking - I chopped up the skins small - all went in - the butter gives a lovely taste. So much nicer than those tasteless frozen potato products.
In fact I had LO mash in the freezer - was a bit watery after defrosting - dried it out over low heat in a saucepan.

Thanks for trying JB, though seems like most of the red lentil recipes have onion, tomato, lemon or spices in :(

I didn't know there would be 'bland food' sections :D
Kirri is back, kirri I can imagine that eating bland food is not the greatest, have a look on the boost your income board, there are a few ways you could make some extra pennies.

Flo have you got the potato cake receipe pretty please, they look nice, dunno how you can eat so few chicken wings in my mind a portion is 6! Lol

Thanks, will have a look - I need to win the lottery the hole I'm getting into! I got a bit fed up and used something I shouldn't have, red pesto, killed my insides though! It's open now though so I'll use it up and not buy again, I'd bought it just before I started on the bland food. Tasted nice too after weeks of no tomatoes! Had the pasta with fried, cubed aubergine and lambs lettuce.

I often think that about the portion size! (if I ate meat of course, I'd like a decent amount).

In to freezer - nothing. :D
Out of freezer - Bag of Rice Mix + HM Mashed Potato Cakes - ready for Wednesday - need a quick meal as baby sitting.
Managed to make a frugal meal - for dinner we had some seriously OOD rice mix from the bowels of the chest freezer. I added some chopped up gammon(LO from Christmas) and 2 eggs plus some seasonings. :j
I have enough LO gammon in fridge to do a stir fry tomorrow with veggies that are in there - so no spending for the meal again. :money:

I had more of the pasta with aubergine, red pesto and lambs lettuce last night, ended up in agony again but was lovely taste. 2 more portions (of pain) left.. so probably have the same tonight/tomorrow and then get back on the bland food sharpish.

Got some dough on the go for either bread or rolls and also putting on some split peas to cook to make a dip for lunch.

Planning my veg delivery for end of the week so working out next week's meals around it - which I think will be mostly chickpea and root veg tagine all week for evening meals with either couscous, bulghar wheat or gram flour pancakes. Will get salad bits for lunches and need to add in some dark, leafy greens somewhere..
