Mr F couldn't find HM Shepherd's Pie in the freezer yesterday - could be - we ate it already and my list is wrong. :o
In to freezer - HM Mashed Potato Cakes.
Out of freezer - ? at moment. Panic - freezer is heaving.
Yummy dinner tonight - whoops Chicken Wings in a HM Barbecue Sauce + HM Mashed Potato Cakes + baked beans. I had to substitute white wine vinegar for cider vinegar in the barbecue sauce but worked. The mashed potato cakes were a new recipe for me - made 8 of them for 80p. Total meal cost - £1 for the two of us. :j
I also had a go at another recipe - Devonshire Apple in and out pudding but I used Conference pears. Let you know tomorrow what it tastes like. Someone said - it is a war time recipe. Dish looks mucky - mixed in there. :D

Need to find veg meals to use red lentils in as I have a whole pack - but can't do anything spicy or acidic so no onions, tomatoes etc - I can't think of anything I can make without those ingredients..

Kirri, do any of these look suitable?

I've not posted in here for a while but I'm using the freezer more and more these days :)

Last night I took out a reduced pork shank which will be roasted today for our dinner. Also out of the freezer will be some veg and some yorkshire puddings.

Nothing gone in yet but I'm going to see if LIDL has any half price turkey left so if they have at least 4 packs will go in the freezer.

Today's list of items in the freezer

    [STRIKE]bread [/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]peas[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]mashed potato[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]potato croquettes - 4 left[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]tofu[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]ginger[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]mushroom parpadelle
    macaroni cheese[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]vegetarian sausages - 2 left[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE][STRIKE]home made veg sausage rolls - 4 left
    shortcrust pastry
1 portion of quorn balti curry
1 portion of green thai curry
    broccoli and cheese quiche
    a higgidy pie
    2 vegetarian curries[/STRIKE][/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]Chestnut rissoles[STRIKE]
    [/STRIKE]Quorn mince[/STRIKE]

My contents in the fridge are

[STRIKE]Thai green curry paste - enough for one green curry[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Tartex - a vegetarian spread, enough for one slice of bread[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]Milk [/STRIKE]

My new freezer arrived this afternoon.

I cooked the quorn mince with onions and peas yesterday.

The vegetarian sausages and chestnut rissoles are defrosted and out for cooking today.

The ginger was used in a lemon and ginger cake.

The tartex is going to be used in a bread roll with cucumber.

The thai green curry paste was used in a meal during the week.

I will put the cheese, butter and vegetables into the new fridge when the fridge/freezer is cold enough.

I have to confess that the packet of peas has not been totally emptied and the rest may need to thrown away - currently sitting in the kitchen with some freezer packs.

Could you post the potato cake recipe please Flo? They look lovely and sound ideal to batch cook and freeze for quick dinners:)

I have taken so much out of the freezer since I last posted. Almost all of the sausages have been used, all of the chicken except goujons, all of the pork except 2 chops. Infact I have very little meat left in there at all. I do have my meals planned out though until payday on Friday. I have also used up most of our fresh and frozen veg making the following.

Today I have made 16 wraps for the freezer to last the week, 4 pizza bases, an oxtail stew, a corned beef pie and 2 quiches. These will become dinners for the week. Only the wraps and bases have went in to the freezer.

Frogletina, you will fill your new freezer in no time :D

    oooh a new freezer I'm jealous :D

Well, my OH decided he wanted belly pork for dinner so the pork shank will wait until tomorrow. I went freezer diving for me and my son and came up with bbq chicken breasts and potato stars. We had it with beans.

    No luck with lidl unfortunately.

arrgh...found a crack in the bottle shelf!!!!

Will need to ring tomorrow and ask for a replacement. I loved my last freezer but was unable to find one the same so went for an expensive replacement. I hate new things with a passion....

The door does not fully open, only just enough to squeeze the shelves out - guess I'll break one of those one day.
