  • My dearest darling Kirri, next time you want to give high praise to Whole Food's and their wonderful cashew butter or anything similar I kindly request that you keep this info to yourself!!!!!

Today I made a visit and spent a fair bit, got carried away with the hot bar! Kirri I blame you for this! Solely you! I'm going to tell your doctor about your jam tarts, as you are on a normal food ban.

I've eaten out all day, nothing to add to this thread apart from tell kirri off.

I am having WF withdrawal now, I might be paying a visit next week. Did you spend a long time in there too? Takes me AGES to shop as there are so many things to measure out yourself!

  • Kirri I spent ages in there, I like to wonder around, I like that they have a chopped veg section, im sitting here with my grandma who I bought cashew butter for, she says its lovely, bet it wont last her long lol. Im going to try the picadilly branch next, its just opened.

had porridge as a late lunch, with sultanas a teaspoon of cashew butter, just had dinner with my grandma, steak, cabbage and rice, I was going to eat the last bits of chicken with the wholefoods brown rice, I brought ready made rice as I just wanted to see how it tasted, also popped into the market and got pittas, red kale, noodles and cucumber, will make some kind of dip, but ive got a few busy days ahead and a lunch with friends.

need to get some meat in.

Very tidy looking dinner ^ mine is a mess in comparison!

MNR - I've seen the chopped veg but not tried it yet, I'd love to work near one as I'd end up going in to get it on the way home - really like the fact that it's possible to buy only what you need for stuff like that and I often get things like the grains and nuts etc weighed out in small amounts. Let me know what the new branch is like - the nut butter machine was broke last time I went :(

Really trying to use up everything, used the remnants of the sprouts from a few weeks ago, they looked ok (though the resident furries refused to eat one tonight, obviously not fresh enough!). I sliced the sprouts, fried with garlic and mixed with 1 mashed potato then fried. With another veggie pie. Tasted nice but far too filling and too big a meal for me.

Decided to make the small pies next time. Got 1 more large pie for tomorrow night which I'll have just with salad! Had a small pie for lunch today on its own and put 4 small pies in the freezer. I might also try the pie filling as just a veggie stew or maybe as a pie with a potato topping.

Ordered £20 ish of veg/salad for delivery this week and 1 pack of chocolate.. :o and only other thing I will buy is water. Also dug up some carrots from the allotment and picked some rocket and mizuna and a handful of herbs to add to what I'm buying. Still got some parnsips and beetroot from the allotment in the fridge.

  • Hi
Do you mind if I join in?
Have just done an inventory of all 4 freezers and seriously need to use up the meat mountain.
In my defence we live on a smallholding and produce all our own beef, OH's hobby is gamefishing and we have several hunting friends who barter venison, wild poultry etc for salami and sausages (another hobby). Neighbouring farmer barters pork and lamb for using some of our land for grazing. So I am rapidly drowning in food. Also have an orchard and large veg gardens, and currently have a very large container of vinegar sitting on top of one of the freezers to keep it closed! So guys, I really, really need you.

Easy, quick meal tonight, reheated one of the HM veggie pies with some frozen sweetcorn/peas.

Roasted the carrots, beetroot and parsnips from the allotment that had been in the fridge. Will freeze and eat later in the week.

Just a courgette and potatoes left now till the veg delivery arrives. Will probably do risotto tomorrow to use the courgette and jacket potatoes over the weekend.
