Have used some of the split peas and red lentils from the cupboard plus carrots, onions & celery from fridge to make pea, lentil and ham soup for lunches.  Hoping to make 6 portions.  Will use 2 portions for lunch tomorrow and hopefully 4 portions into the freezer!

Soup is becoming quite a feature here now the weather is turning colder, great for using up 'bendy' veg.

    Out: bread.

I've started my Christmas puddings today - hence the bread - It's a recipe I've used for over 40yrs and I'd forgotten just how much it makes. At the moment it's soaking up all the alcohol overnight ready to be steamed tomorrow. I'm doing one 2pt size for Christmas day and should have enough left over to do several 2 portion ones as well which will end up in the freezer.

I love Christmas cooking, especially stuff I can freeze. No staff at Christmas so it's handy to have things I can just defrost and use.

@zafiro1984 I wouldn't have thought you'd need to freeze the puddings.  My mum always used to keep them throughout the year in the cupboard and just change the greaseproof & foil on the top prior to steaming.  The alcohol improves the flavour over time!  I don't even both with Christmas puddings any more as neither DH nor I are bothered about them.
