  • Got turkey mince out for Sunday dinner, ended up not having it as stuffed from a lunch out. Had it yesterday with veg, noodles and sweet chilli sauce. Also had a bumper day at the YS section:

In: Bread, chollah bread, 3 boxes of 5 chicken thighs (1.5 kg for £2.40, it would have been rude not to!), sweet chilli wraps, tomatoes, home-picked blackberries.
Out: chicken breasts for tonight, portion potato boulangere, plain wraps, blueberries

Couple of questions need some help with please from those in the know:
Is there anyway of rescueing oversized tough runnerbeans? Tried curry last year, didn't work, was still tough.
And with freezing courgette: blanch first or not? Know it doesn't freeze well except for stews and soups, so also wondering which size of chopping is best. Chunks? Diced?
Done a massive harvest on allotment today, so will update once it all prepared and in freezer.

Don't know how many you have, but what about chutney?

In my experience of runner beans, no. I pop them open and use the beans only, throw the skins, they have a tough membrane in.

In: More foraged blackberries, YS fish fillets, wraps, bread, LO venison stew & chicken curry, cooked sausages, portioned-up dim sum.
Out: Chicken thighs to make the above chicken curry, crumpets, bananas for smoothie, meatballs, chicken legs, breaded fish.

Really must eat more from the freezer, the inside one is rammed and the outside one is fuller than I thought - and I have 2 large ducks coming this week
