  • Afternoon.

I have the Boston beans in the slow cooker, I've added lardons, it looks a bit watery, its been on high for an hour, I'm going to leave it on until it thickens.

I may have beans on toast for dinner depending how it tastes, the meatloaf meat has defrosted, so I will season it up and leave in the fridge, I need to get another silicon loaf tin today or tomorrow.

I have put 3 portions of fish stew on the freezer, one portion for lunch over the weekend. Out yesterday was lamb mince and a packet of sausage meat. Will make some fruit lollies for the freezer, pineapple and peach.

  • Kirri that all looks so tempting, that's why I'm delaying going there, I will spend too much, esp as I can justify that it's all healthy, I'm thinking of Going near Christmas.

I will mmake the scones eventually and let you know, there was a receipe for oats and egg baked, forgot what it's called.

  • The nut butters sound so good Kirri, I am a peanut butter addict. They don't have any such shop near me though so I will just have to imagine the great taste!

    IN: nothing
Out: 2 chicken breasts for dinner (chicken katsu curry).

  • Cashew butter in Mr S, I'm a fan
Never tried cashew nut butter before, have to try it! Looks dead easy to prepare at home too, just cashew nuts in the food processor

Might buy some of the basics salted cashews, rinse off the salt and try making this:)

I was reading that oat brings it down by 10% if eaten daily, I hate porridge, need to find an alternative receipe, was thinking flapjacks but so fattening lol, was thinking of adding to my daily soothie, but it may make it really thick.

If you do the oat scones or find any other good oat recipes please post, I also can't get on with porridge! I may start adding some oats to bread.

  • Did a bit of exploring round new area and found that we have an aldi only a 10 min walk away so thats good for when we run out of milk or want some nice food cheap etc. Out of the freezer last night was home grown sausages for a cooked breakfast this morning and home grown shoulder of pork for tea. Only things that went in were some frozen veg. Would love to upload some pics of the food I have cooked, how do I do it?

It sounds better than fried porridge! I guess it looks ok, but out of those 50 recipes what actually tastes nice?! If you make it please post up with the result :)

I would be tempted to try making the cashew butter myself but my poor food processor would probably get quite hot getting it to the right consistency - the WF machine is major heavy duty, it comes out in seconds! Wonder how cheap it would be to do it yourself though in comparison, with the non salted nuts.

MNR - how did your Boston beans turn out?

I use photobucket, quick to set up an account for free and just click the upload button on there to upload the pics from your pc. When the pic is uploaded there is an IMG box to the right, click it to copy the address of the pic. When you type a post on here click on the icon above the box you type your post in and there's an icon with a yellow background and mountain/sun (?) in, paste the IMG code into that and post.

Last night I had a lazy meal of the Clive's organic GF vegan pie from the Ocado order and some of the WF salad box.

Today need to go back to using some bits up. Still got 1 portion of the pesto so must use that. Still got the preserved lemons so need to do the tagine in next couple of days and still have half a pomegranate/half a lemon but could combine that all in one meal.. Don't want to start of the rest of the newly bought food till they are used.

    Today will probably be:
    B- yog/granola/oj
L - WF sourdough and WF fresh cashew butter and remains of WF salad with clementines to follow.
D - last bit of vegan red pesto and the last half of my last HG courgette for this year plus some of the HG chilli peppers from the fridge (large and not too hot).
