5th August 2017 update :-
Ingredients used up = 17
Recipes used up = 38
I haven't set a total figure to aim for yet. Wondering whether to set another aim?
No (food) spend days 5/5 this month.
The fridge is less cluttered but probably this is because some of the contents went in the freezer. Store cupboards are not so bad. Kitchen surfaces are reasonably clear at the moment.0 -
today
out turkey, bacon, left over turkey mince and veg thing, pork pies
beef, butternut squash, mushrooms, spinach
made a beef stew and a turkey and bacon pie and we had a picnic. I also made raisin bread using up flour and raisins which have been in my cupboard for about a year.

Used half pkt sponge cake mix and added some coconut milk powder (why have I got 2 boxes as well as tinned?) a couple of eggs and some water, made 8 fairy cakes, used some ready made lemon icing, nearly all gone now, ate one and is lovely. Took Italian style hog roast from freezer, used half, some peas, some frozen sweet potato plus some instand mash (2 boxes - why?). Am working hard to clear stocks as I made soup for next 3 days out of stuff hanging about. Slight space in freezer.0

Really pleased as I managed to banish all of the 'freezer bread' into a savoury bread and butter pudding, which has now all been consumed and have batch cooked all my pearl barley that was a little OOD into a mushroom barlotto for work lunches.Debt Free Stage 1 - Completed 27/08/2020

In: nothing
Out: tin of condensed soup, portion of mash
Used up: cottage cheese, courgettes, cabbage, apples and a pepper0 -
I managed to use up all the part baked ciabattas I had which were OOD but fine today. I baked them, sliced them in half and made them into ' pizzas' which also got rid of some grated mozzarella and some carrot top pesto from the freezer. There's enough left over for tea tomorrow too. We visited some friends this pm who fed or 4 year old with their kids and of course it was pizza again! Still, you can't have to much pizza can you?? Tonight hubby and I will be having some macaroni cheese bites from the freezer served with a side salad of gin & tonic (I know it's work tomorrow but I feel like a pick me up after discovering that the several hundred pounds I spent on the emergency plumber last week while hubby was away and water was pouring through the kitchen ceiling was wasted as our cover with BG would have included fixing it - I'm so cross with myself that I didn't know that and panicked!)0
