I have sorted my top freezer shelf and done menu plan for week using stuff, have now done 2nd shelf and will do 3rd later today. Feeling so much better. Still got other freezer (in pantry) to do and dare not look in cupboards.
I have cheapo oats ever morning made with milk. I put in microwave mug in my slow cooker with timer to come on around 5ish and off around 7ish. when I get up it is cooked but still warm no matter what time I rise. If I have fruit (fresh, frozen or tinned) I add, of maple syrup/jam/sugar. I am diabetic so careful of the sweet stuff. Keeps me OK until home made soup at lunchtime and have lost weight too.0 -

I've been lurking .... I don't have a problem with freezer stocks. I have been gradually moving stuff out of the pantry in2 kitchen cupboards, in order that they get used up. Seems to be working. I will be doing a shop on Thursday, as I've run out of basics, lentils, minced garlic, onions, top-up fruit & salad, but will not be replacing tagliatelle etc until I have used up spaghetti etc. I also have some massive catering tins of beans and also fruit, which I will try and turn in2 burgers or something, sometime down the line. Hopefully by the end of the week, my kitchen cupboards and pantry will be more organized. Anyhows .....
IN a massive bag of foraged blackberries
OUT fruits for smoothies, savoury rice, savoury veggie mince, homemade broccoli soup0 -
In nothing
Out 4 burgers and 1 chicken fillet0 -
IN ice cream in the flavours of vanilla, ginger and dark chocolate, and lime.
To be done this pm blackcurrant, blackberry and possibly caramel brownbread. This is the fruit from last year which was frozen and needs using up before the new crop is ready for picking. My DH would live on ice cream if I let him. Good job I've got my own chickens for the eggs.
OUT 2 turkey wings and 100gm cooked turkey.
All veggies and fruit to be used today, either in fridge or on veg plot0 -
I need to get back into this. I've been rubbish recently and although I haven't been wasting any food I've also not been reducing the freezer or cupboard stocks - both are still bursting at the seams. So think I'm going to try and motivate myself with mini-goals and tackle the freezer first. First up is to clear a shelf of the freezer by the end of the month. I'm also going to continue not wasting any food so there may be meal leftovers going in but the net result needs to be a clear shelf. Maybe I should start with the ice cream - ;-)
So today I had a portion of chickpea and peach curry & rice from the freezer for my lunch and I'll have a veggie burger (I know there are a few lurking in there) with some salads for tea. I think I'm going to be surprised at some of the things I find once I've got space to move anything without it all falling on top of me.0 -
