    Hi,

    Sorry, it's been awhile since my last post (9/4/17). Then, I had commented how progress with this challenge had eventually led to things coming around "full circle" again. Since then, whilst still following this thread, "everyday life" has tended to dominate time.

    Hi, I'd like to have another attempt at this challenge that I initially started in January 2017. Back tomorrow!
  • I'd like to have a go at this challenge as I feel the constant burden of frozen mince on my shoulders!

    I need to find some alternatives to bolognese/chilli/cottage pie!

    In today: nothing
    Out: frozen chicken, mozzarella ball, four potatoes, baked beans

    Back as I said I would :-

    Yesterday I used up two food ingredients and eight recipes. I had to go an errand which was combined with food shopping for somebody else but did not purchase any food groceries for myself. Picked a few (free) raspberries and blackberries whilst out so eventually spare freezer space would be handy for more!

    Out: ciabatta roll, smoked mackeral, pasta, frozen peas
    Used up: spring onion, cream cheese, duck eggs and gave an almost full pack of wafer thin ham to my Dad as I'm not keen on it.

    2/8/17 -

    A further three food ingredients and eight recipes were had. Consequently, my running totals from 1/8/17:-

    Food ingredients = 10
    Recipes = 16

    I might think of a "grand total" to aim for?

    Examples of the items used up were bits of fruit, veg and garden herbs. Also, last of a particular bread recipe and a small portion of bran used in a new bread recipe which will provide two portions.

    Went out again yesterday to the charity shop and nearby food store but just acquired reductions for somebody I was shopping for.

    P.S. Hi caronc, I can relate to your not being so "keen" regarding the ham. Some of my fridge freezer items I also feel the same about.
