Hi,
Since my last post (23/1/17), I've received an online grocery order, purchased some local food reductions and had an ebay food product delivered. Consequently, the total food grocery expenditure since joining this challenge (14/1/17) = £37.52.
The grocery order consisted of mainly the basic essentials which will last into next month (e.g. UHT milk). One item purchased was to assist using up present freezer stocks. However, another packet of cocoa makes it now four unopened in the store cupboard and and one opened (have been stocking up while they are reduced).
The local food shopping costs were good bargains (ys hence half price on two regular bought items. Also, two 5p large orange peppers from a "5p box" at a Cash & Carry).
Lastly, the ebay food purchase was necessary for dietary reasons.0 -
Welsh Poppy:- I admire you for your lists, I do not have the patience to go through all the drawers to list things individually. My system is a sort of fruit and veg in those drawers, meat in another. I have to say I find things I didn't know I had, sometimes a good surprise - sometimes not.
OUT
filo pastry, not sure why, as we're not having flan tonight.
3 mince pies - pudding with custard
HM tomato soup - loads more to go and then I have almost a drawer full of frozen whole tomatoes to wade through.
An apricot, cherry and sultana tealoaf, DH has already eaten half of it and it was supposed to last at least two days.
Four sausage rolls, put them in the oven to crisp up for lunch, didn't work so the dog enjoyed them.
Tea has yet to be decided!!!
IN - nothing0 -
Study group fed. 4 portions of Arrabiatta sauce for the freezer.
Out for tomorrow -
2 x Breakfast Bake, 1 x tuna steak (for me. DH eating out with study group), Mince and chicken livers for Slow Cooker Bolognaise. It will be going back in the freezer but I picked up YS mushrooms for 17p and was going to cook it later in the week anyway.Goals - Weight loss 6/26lb at 22nd Jan 18Mmmm. 26lb at 1/7/18. Oops:o0 -

No doubt I will be back with what came out of freezer:-)
I did the same this week, only bought what was on my list, even though I went after work and before I had my lunch.
In the past couple of weeks I have used up:-
Jar of pickle
Box of porridge
3 cartons of long life milk
1 pack of breakfast biscuits (got up late one day and didn’t have time for breakfast)
6 tins of soup
loaf of bread from freezer
2 sausages, some chopped peppers, and sweet potato from freezer made into sausage and roast veg along with an onion
shortbread
3 tins of beans
3 cheese triangles
6 crispbreads
a pasty
carrots
potatoes
2 steak and ale pies
1 yorkshire pud
plenty of cheese
couple of paninis
4 sausages
I’ve had to buy a few essentials e.g. milk, bread, eggs and cheese, also bought some rolls and some ham for lunches, and some fruit.Weight loss challenge 2/10lbs

I went shopping to the new Aldo's yesterday, only to find they charged me twice for toilet rolls  - v annoying as it is in the opposite direction to anything else I do so the fuel cost would be about the same as going to get a refund.
Anyway, I bought ready-made croissants, mini ice-cream things on sticks (for DH) and a pack of frozen summer fruits - all new additions to the freezer but I used some frozen chips and a pack of spicy veg soup yesterday.
Today I have a half shoulder of lamb to roast for this evening with roast potatoes and butternut squash (squash from stores), carrots, frozen broccoli and cabbage. I don't plan to eat anything else as DH is off out on his bike today so I shall skip lunch and just have a bit of my l/o lemon cake with a cup of tea if I am peckish.
I need to finish the cake :rotfl: so I can clear the decks of temptation ready to start my experimental diet this week - the trouble is I have eaten more rubbish in the lead-up that I am sure I must have put on weight. My trousers certainly felt snug around the waist yesterday evening
I shall go and do stuff in the garden to burn a few extra calories I think (and I need to plan what veggies we will grow and in which beds too).
Have a good Sunday everyone
