Depends on how much meat there is on the carcass. Soup is one idea, Other ideas - chicken, and other bits (ham, mushrooms or sweetcorn etc) with a sauce in filo. Another variation would be the same mix of bits but as a sort of wellington with puff pastry. I'm sure others on here would have plenty more ideas.
OUT
Jersulem artichokes for soup at lunch. We have a friend to lunch today who loves this soup but it has the usual reaction with me so I'll be having more bread rolls than soup!!!!

Parkin made yesterday and a chocolate tray bake - so no biscuits will be bought this week
Down to the last 5 tins of treacle and just used the last of the cocoa0 -
Hope it's OK to join - I really need to do this! Am currently spending around £450 a month for our family of 7 - not too bad, but I think I could do better. We've got loads in the cupboards and freezer, so will try and use up most of that over the next few days/weeks. Have just spent £50 in Tesco on essentials (eggs, fresh fruit and veg, yoghurt, nappies etc).
Dinner is chicken breasts from the freezer, with bacon from the fridge to use up, mash and veg.Go to the ant, thou sluggard0 -

Hi,
Since joining this challenge on 14/1/17 - 31/1/17 inc., my total food grocery spends = £37.52 (for one person).
Food products used up = 55 and created recipes had = 61 (myself only). Some of these items, however, are now in new created recipes!
For me, food groceries take up too much time in many ways and I think there are many factors causing this. Consequently, a big task ahead to improve things.0 -
End of month
Foods in red I cannot eat yet as I am on a special diet for 6 weeks
Foods in the freezer past the bb date
1 loaf of bread
1 part used loaf of cheesy bread
1 packet of rolls
Home made vegetable curry
Home made quorn curry
chopped ginger
In my fridge
lime juice
lemon juice
mayonnaise
alpro desserts
In my cupboards
tarka dall
stuffing mix
1 tub golden breadcumbs
9 small boxes of raisins
peanut butter
almond flour
millet
walnuts
marmite
flax seeds
A lot of the items will not get used up this month but those not in red should reduce.
Total money spent on food groceries this month is £46.46
I'm pleased with the amount I have spent. I was hoping to keep it under £40, but I've enough eggs and gluten free bread for the next fortnight, plus unopened yoghourt, brie, pineapple juice, and a new jar of peanut butter - the one I have in the above list will be finished on toast tomorrow.
Not included in the above are a couple of bottles of ginger ale which I've decided should not come from my grocery budget as they are not necessities so have come out of my personal spending money.
