Kirri, Welsh Poppy, No explanantion about the delay on the diet trial, apparently it is a trial in the south run from Souhampton uni and it is a random selection as to which catagory you end up being put in.
I have been a member of weightloss resources for ages so will just use their website to the full. Today is day one.
Freezer:- Out: 1 portion apple crumble (DH), 3 slices bread (DH), carrots, celery, leeks (me and DH) for a chicken cass, everything else is in the fridge
In: Nowt - at last!!
Florenceem:- missed your daily photo, hope all is well today.0 -
Kirri those Boston beans look yum, I had some at an American place called big easy, I wouldn't mind making them myself but with the bacon added obviously! Lol
I was out all day yesterday, so not much eaten.
The rest of the seasoned beans and a roll for breakfast. Not sure about lunch, dinner will be a sea bass that I got half price yesterday stuffed with kale, I have a few jobs to do, so this will entail a long walk about 3.5 miles.Lose 28lb 3/28lb

^ The Americans do good beans! The ones I had in the USA were a bit browner, but was similar taste. This is the recipe I used, though as no meat (or cheese) I didn't cook it in the oven for hours, just cooked beans on their own and sauce in a frying pan. I used only 100g dried beans and halved the recipe, so quite cheap.

Good luck Zafiro and WP on new health kicks - I want to make some minor adjustments, more fruit, lower cholesterol and more gym.
Today - having very late yog/granola/oj breakfast as got tied up sorting things this morning.
Will have a bit of fruit toast mid pm as have to go out for appt.
Dinner - rest of the Boston beans, allotment corn on the cob and last fried egg (1 day out of date) or possibly a tofu sausage.
Out of freezer - 4 tbsp soya milk - to make a cake(the eggs need to be used though!).

Canadians do beans with maple sauce which is an acquired taste frankly. Never have cooked beans myself because of all the soaking
so admiration for those who do bother. :T
No movements for us out of freezer or cupboard last night but did use up grated Mozzarella and prosciutto which had been hanging around in fridge and cauliflower which had been hanging around in veg rack for cauliflower cheese.
As I low carb and OH now going wheat/gluten free we have to make sauces with cream or creme fraiche rather than a roux of flour and butter plus milk. I'm actually wondering whether the roux to thicken milk was a money-saving idea way back, as cheaper than cream.
Kirri I'm going to be rummaging through cook books for low carb veggie ideas as I'm convinced OH's probs start with too much wheat n meat !
Hope everyone well, good luck with the healthier eating etc. Am going to Holland & Barrett later if it stops raining as last day of penny sale and meeting OH off train to stop by Morrisons. Those two = 4 miles so that's my exercise done too0 -
^ I'd been meaning to make that recipe for ages but kept forgetting to put the beans on soak the night before! It's cheaper and takes up less room and bit more natural to have the dried beans rather than tinned but takes bit more prep.. Do the Canadians put just maple syrup in? I had 1/2 tbsp in the beans but mixed with the other stuff I couldn't taste what was what.
Rose Elliott does a low carb veggie cookbook, I've not seen it but keep meaning to have a look on Amazon. Meat was certainly very heavy on the digestion, I didn't realise how much till I stopped eating it.
I'm not too sure which way to go with the cholesterol, with all the new ways of thinking over what really does cause the problem it just gets confusing over what is really correct.0 -
Got movement but in the wrong direction, went shopping last night and got lots of reduced to clear stuff for the freezer;
In: 2 x fresh chickens, loaf of bread, cheese and leak side dish, chicken portionsthink I'm in trouble

Kirri i read that dairy , red meat and cakes were the most common factors for cholesterol, I'm still reading up on it and adjusting my diet, as high cholesterol leads to diabetes and heart attacks and I don't want either.
I'm determined to get mine down to normal, I have decided to have another blood test in the new year to check on my progress, I am still having my treats though, deffo need to cut down on that! I'm a work in progress, trying to implement more of the stuff they say lowers it, weekly seems to be my theme.Lose 28lb 3/28lb
