we were terrible, and had takeaway Saturday and then out yesterday. So nothing in/out.

Burgers to use up today, will pop the spare buns in the freezer to save for another day.
  • Found some home grown braising steak in the freezer so that's gone in the slow cooker with onion. Have lots of random fish that u have bought from the reduced to clear that I am struggling to come up with ideas as I'm not very creative with fish.

5 days to go for the my deadline of making space in freezer as I'm picking up the home grown meat at the weekend. Do I try and.clear big items that will do several days of meals or lots of small things?

Just finished my meal plan for this week, trying to use up what I already have got. Ran what I needed through mysupermarket website and it came to just over £20. Quite pleased, the only trouble is I go shopping in the evening after tea and always look at the YS items or the 'savvy buys' Mt S at the moment has terry's chocolate oranges reduced from 2.50 to 1.00, how can I resist????

    Out
2 x HM turkey soup, HM tea bread - lunch
2 x pieces shortcrust pastry - flan for this PM
    1 portion apple/blackberries

    In
8 portions of pears in red wine and cinnemon
    4 portions of apple crumble

I am running out of ideas to do with apples, over this last few weeks I've frozen sliced apples, puree, various puddings, and cakes, as well as making chutney, apple juice and 4 gallons of cider and I still have loads left - what next!!!

^ Have you been watching River Cottage Fruit? he might have some new apple ideas! Think he did fried apples slices with sausages in one of his books. (I have to keep turning off the latest series though as he's killing animals again..).

Today, usual breakfast and lunch - finished off the peanut butter but will get more later in the week. Had garlic butter toast for the 2nd slice.

Dinner - think might do a stir fry and rice, picked probably the last of the mange tout (cold today but still no frost) and got plenty of other stir fry type veg to use.

Was wondering, as I was picking beetroot, if I sliced and roasted/griddled it, would it freeze like that for reheating another time, anyone ever tried? It's getting so muddy on the plot I was wondering if I could do that rather than leave them all in the ground (I have nowhere to store it whole over winter and it only keeps in the fridge for a few weeks).

Out of the freezer came nothing as the ys shop I did was too good.

In went 3 sirloin joints and two packets of meatballs and a tear and share bread. 1 packet of meatballs became dinner for tonight.
