Yes, just chop it in to bits ready to throw in to a soup or casserole. I have never tried just eating it after I have frozen it but it looks fine as if normal. I might try it next time just to see if you can.
I will try that, I never use a whole one up before it goes a bit rank - I assumed as it was so watery that freezing it would ruin it, but if it's ok in stew type dinners I'll test it out.ms_night_ryder wrote: »My Cholesterol was 5.8 she didn't mention anything else just said it's a little high.
I always ask for the full lab print-out (very nosey patient!)
I know the health service are stretched but I think if they have a target level then for anyone over that they could make more effort to offer advice or at least offer to re-test in a year.
Have never tried roast crispy kale, sounds good.
Usual breakfast and fruit bread for lunch. No idea re dinner yet, not sure I have the energy to cook today though, may be something very easy.0 -
celery swede turnip leeks beetroot onions - I freeze the lot but have to say I only use them in casseroles/soups after they have been frozen.
Had so much planned for today, mainly called housework and then the electric went down, didn't come back on until late this afternoon so ended up cleaning out some of the chickens and talking to my neighbour about his heritage fruit trees - an interesting old bloke with a really dry sense of humour. Wish I had more time to spend like that but then nothing would get done.
Florenceen - pleased to see you back with your photos
Freezer movements
Out 2 pieces of puff pastry, peas, cooked chicken, going to make a white sauce and stick the cooked chicken peas, some bacon and mushrooms into the pastry for DH. I'm having toms, onions, cheese in same, the difference is that mine comes out of the fridge and needs using up, never mind I enjoy cheese and onion.
Some blackcurrents to make jam/jelly

WP yes sometimes it is hard esp when I turned 30, Christmas etc, but in general I think I do o.k, she died just after I turned 7, so ive not had her for a very long time.
Kirri I have some questions lol, I went to buy the haricot beans, but they are tiny, I figured if I buy a pack of dried beans then I can make as much beans as I like, do they swell in size? also I just bought some golden beetroot, I have never roasted beets how long do I roast for? im thinking of roasting kale and beets with a piece of fish for dinner, also I went and got the kitchen mag, I got silly Tetley, what did you get? I saw people on another thread had got tea pigs, I wouldn't have minded those!
Woke up with a sore throat, but I have 20 bottles of honey, so no worries lol.
Picked up some reduced Chinese pork and prawn buns, so will have some of those later.
Hope you are all well.Lose 28lb 3/28lb

The dried haricot are tiny beans! but do swell to roughly double that size - I stuck them in a bowl of water early evening and left them overnight. I use roughly 100g of dried beans for any recipe using a 400g of tinned beans though I didn't reweigh them to see how much they weighed after soaking. That made either 2 very large portions of 3 portions if having other stuff with them. I didn't realise how much beans changed size till I grew the borlotti and watched them shrink into dried beansWas also thinking of trying the haricot in a veg sausage cassoulet.
Golden beetroot is so good - got a bag full on the kitchen table (albeit mine are covered in mud..). Are they selling them in supermarkets now? I always slice mine, put in a shallow roasting tin and cover in oil/pepper/herbs, prob cook them for about 20-25 mins in slices, no idea how long whole ones would take though? They also cook really quickly on a hot griddle pan in slices too.
I got Tetley too, didn't know some had Teapigs in!! My mum didn't get any in her mag though so I can't complain!
20 bottles  was it on offer or something?!
Today:
Breakfast, usual yog/granola/oj
Lunch - more toasted fruit bread
Dinner - poss tofu sausages (as the pack is open) and corn on the cob and sliced beetroot0
