Eating out of the freezer and cupboards challenge - part two

^ Very restrained just eating half a sausage roll!
I used up one veg box punnet of tomatoes today and used most of the veg box salad potatoes too - made the patatas bravas, added in HG garlic, sage, hot pepper plus smoked paprika. Had it with just a fried egg as being lazy. Made enough patatas bravas to have 2 spare portions so they are in the fridge but might freeze them as I've not got anything suitable to have with them at the moment. They were really nice though, not made them in a while.
Used the last 2 eggs and made fairy cakes this evening.
Made split pea dip for lunch and had it with HM bread. Got a spare portion for tomorrow's lunch.
Rather too much cooking for my liking today...0 -
Yes very restrained!!!
I just had dinner of slow roasted pork that I cooked yesterday, some of the burrito beans and some organic potatoes I got ys, that were in the fridge from last week but needed using.
I have enough beans for 1 more portion, enough roast potatoes for 1 and pork has about 2-3 portions left.
Also just made some lemon and strawberry water, cant wait to try that tomorrow.Lose 28lb 3/28lb

I'm beginning to see how you've stayed slim and your DH has lost all his weight - only wish I had your discipline as I'd have eaten his half too!0 -
I didn't need more than half a sausage roll with the wedges and egg. People who eat too much stretch their stomach so they need more and more to fill it. As you lose weight - your stomach shrinks so less food makes you feel full.
Mr F and I have one square of chocolate a day - we so enjoy eating that. You do get used to having the one square and look forward to it.
Mr F bought me a bar of chocolate covered coconut ice last week. The bar is 150g. I cut a tiny slice off each day - cut it in to three - I have 2 pieces and Mr F - 1. So look forward to that daily treat.
I do have strong willpower. There is no way I am going to let Mr F get obese again. He is so happy now that he is slim and fitter. Of course I loved him when he was obese but I was so frightened that I would lose him early.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Couldn't agree more MrsF. I've booked myself a dream holiday for the end of the year to celebrate a big birthday and it will involve lots of walking. A few years ago that would have put me off, and I'd have been too shy to do it alone, but now I'm determined to do it. So, I'm busy trying to eat healthily, keep fit, lose a few extra pounds and am saving the money I'm not spending on cigarettes (over £500 so far!) for my holiday. I want to see and experience as much as I can in my life and be around for as long as possibleIf that means a little bit of discipline and having to say 'no' to some things, then it will be worth it
I can't believe it has taken me this long to realise that life is about more than grinding away at work and 'owning things', but at least I've realised it now!

I forgot to say that my dinky little slow cooker has turned up :T! I've even bought some other bits including sharp knives, a potato-masher and baking/roasting trays (I was told you have to season them before first use and I managed to make a mess of it and had to call on MSE-ers for some help to put it right last night
)
So, once I've eaten up the ready meals that are in the fridge, I'll attempt to cook a real meal from scratch. Lunch today was a fairly healthy chicken salad and supper will be a ready meal of roast pork loin, baby new potatoes and some veggies. Looks perfectly OK but hope I'll be able to do better once I know how to cook. Right, off to read the slow cooker thread on here now .....
Feeling all excited about it!0 -

Yep, agree with that! :T
Flo - no way could I ever just eat 1 square of chocolate!
Meals today:
Lunch - rest of the split pea dip I made yesterday, topped with dukkah with HM bread toasted and HG griddled asparagus.
Dinner - romano pepper from the veg box, stuffed with brown basmati rice, spring onions, HG thyme/garlic cooked in vegan stock. Had it with a portion of the HM patatas bravas from yesterday.
Last portion of the patatas bravas gone in the freezer until I can think what to eat with it.
Small vegbox order placed for end of the week, mostly salad stuff and a couple of bits to make recipes so had to work out a rough meal plan up to the end of next week. Been sorting new recipes today too to get ideas.
