Kirri those photos are definite food !!!!!!! Have you any plans to start a takeout/delivery service? :D

Didn't get out today for shopping and cream tea as I'm a bit under the weather, but hopefully will be up to it tomorrow instead.

Looool kirri I was wondering why you hadn't mentioned any sugary fairy cake type things, popcorn makes up for it, the asparagus looks gorgeous.

I have been a bit bad, I had cereal for breakfast, lion bar cereal, I really wanted to try it, found some in 99p stores and thought why not, well it's not what I was expecting, but I took a pint of milk out of the freezer, so will eat it until the milk is finished, also had sausage and chips from chip shop, went to Mr s and Mr w and the butchers, spending money eek.

I found £4.50 worth of money of Mr s if I spend £15 so will make a list as I need some washing powder and the cupboard is bare of tins, I also need sugar. I plan to spend £10.50 if I can, so will make a list and go during the week.

Must attempt my zumba DVD tomorrow!!! I'm so lazy.

We're all obviously suffering from a sweet tooth at the moment. I didn't get my cream tea but I did get a particularly good bar of chocolate (Artisan du Chocolat) which I scoffed immediately. Also got a bottle of posh salted caramel sauce, a teaspoon of which stirred into an expresso coffee is about the most delicious thing I've ever had. Plus it counts as pudding AND coffee thus being frugal :D OK, even I don't believe that but it was so good I don't care!

Roasted the pork joint today and had it with some roasted carrots and cauliflower. Not the prettiest meal you've ever seen but it was tasty enough although I think I'll enjoy the spicy pork and bean casserole I'm making with the leftovers even more. Just did a quick calculation and 55% of my food intake today was fat  Back to steamed vegetables tomorrow I think!

    ^ I can't go a day without something sweet!

MNR - I was going to make more fairy cakes today!

but the washing machine decided to break down with all my washing inside soaked and there's stinking water in the pump  typical on a bloody BH weekend as I can't even ring the engineers.

So I made a nice lunch before that happened of the Mary Berry fiery red rice with the last of the split pea dip and more bread but been faffing with the machine all afternoon and cleaning up the kitchen floor so just going to have some jam toast shortly as no energy to cook again now.

Though compared with Lion Bar cereal (can't imagine what that is like!) and the chip shop I feel I've not eaten too badly in comparison lol.

    Lunch:

Older, taste is more important than looks, you can work on the look after, well done on making a meal and not having a salad or ready meal.

Kirri the cereal just isn't nice, it's just chocolate flakes and toffee flakes, won't be buying it again, I can't wait to buy some porridge!

When you mentioned washing machines, you reminded me I had a load to hang.

Cereal for brekkie, I made bbq chicken, rice easy cook, now I remember why it's been about 4 years since I bought some, I will stick to Brown or basmati in future, thank god it's only a small pack, used the last if the organic baby ys potatoes, ys carrots and broccoli. Also had a mango a clem and some crisps for lunch, enough leftovers for 2 days.

My eyelid has swollen up, there seems to be a spot in the eyelid, with my doctor's it's always 2 weeks before you can get an appointment, I'm hoping it will go down because I have college on Tuesday and I look ridiculous!!!

  • You've got my sympathies Ms NR, as I've got a cold sore at the moment which is making me look hideous (and these horrible things hurt too). Makes you want to hide away until the swelling has gone doesn't it, but I suppose it's one of those things where we notice it more than other people do. BTW, the Lion Bar cereal sounds lovely to me so I'd swap you for my porridge!

Kirri I'm sorry about your washing machine too, sure you could do without the expense and inconvenience of fixing/replacing it and it's not until you don't have it that you realise how much you rely on it is it. Mine has been on the go pretty much permanently so far this weekend as I've been batch-dying my faded jeans.

I'm planning a proper bank holiday rest today, with no cooking as I'll just reheat yesterdays leftovers. Actually looking forward to a nice crunchy salad for lunch too. And a bit more chocolate of course!

Flo I wish! If there is a cancellation on the day I've called they do offer though, but 2 weeks is pretty standard, I've got an appointment with the nurse on Thursday, maybe I c can ask her.
