Eating out of the freezer and cupboards challenge - part two

^ I used to walk that way when I worked up in London, nice walk through the park there too.
Strange dinner tonight, got a very sparse fridge...
Had a bit of dried pasta left so cooked that and made a 'sauce' with a bit of HM tomato relish, frozen sweetcorn/haricot beans/HG chilli, added in a bit of fresh spinach & spring onion and topped with a tiny bit of grated cheese. Basically whatever I could find to put in it...
Stopped the hunger for a bit anyway.
Probably have a banana later.0 -

They're my favourite sort of meals Kirri, for some reason they always seem to be tastier than the ones where I follow an actual recipe, so I think it must just be that my expectations are so low:rotfl:
That part of London is just beautiful isn't it. Stopped off at the National Portrait Gallery on my way home and felt v lucky to have all this on my doorstep. Can't think of anywhere else I'd rather live than here0 -
Kirri, your meal actually sounds nice, i'd eat it.
Older did you manage to eat the pork casserole? Did you take roast pork sandwiches on your walk today?
I did my shop as planned, getting £4.50 off a £15.28 shop, was pleased with that, mr s has sent me 5 vouchers to be used in a month, so I will use them as long as I can keep combining the till spit with it, also this will last me a week, no shopping in between.
In the freezer went lamb chunks, I managed to get a load of reduced fruit and veg, weight watcher malted bread, I thought it must have been a sign, then as I was walking around, a man came past with a box of ttd tomatoes and he was pointing and saying to me, really good tomatoes lol, I went to look and they were all reduced on vine to 20p, picked up a couple packs, also got baby sweet peppers, lamb, tangerines and grapes all yellow sticker.
I made the chicken stir fry adding various ys things, was yummy and enough left for dinner tomorrow, also there was so much chicken, I took some cooked with the veg etc and will have it in pittas and such for the next few days.
Managed my day of no snacking, well I did snacki had 4 small tangerines during the day, 2 of those were pudding.
I'm going to attempt to make iced tea soon, I have some tea from waitrose that was free months back, so I will try and concot something, also adding honey as a sweetner if needed.Lose 28lb 3/28lb

Hi Ms NR
and well done on the healthy snacking! Wish I'd done the same as I think I'm having a bit of sugar crash now (ate two slices of cake, some cookies plus a BIG bar of chocolate yesterday:rotfl:)
I managed four dinners plus three sandwich lunches but still had to throw away more than a third of the joint last night as I didn't think it was safe to keep it any longer (cooked it on Sunday). Hate throwing food away but I'm consoling myself with the knowledge that I gave it a good go and it cost just under £4 so it was a bargain. I'll look for smaller bargains next time!
Still got lots of the spicy bean casserole left (made it without the pork so I could keep any leftovers longer) and it is in a thick sauce so I think that might make a nice wrap for lunch today. Then I can put a grated parmesan/breadcrumb topping on the rest and have it for dinner today or tomorrow. My goal is to make it look even half as appetising as Kirri makes her meals look.
Am missing MrsF's photos, hope she is back soon.0 -
Salmon out of the freezer this morning.
As the freezer is full of yellow sticker milk and bread I am challenging myself not to go shopping until next month. So meals will get interesting towards the end of May and I will probably need your help.House purchased November 2013

Right I am on to this now:
In: nothing.
Out: eight sausages, 2 x pieces of cheese, 4 x pieces of fish, one portion of stew, one portion of curry. That should see me through the week-end.0 -
Older it was hard! around 2am, I did think about having a cheese and coleslaw sandwich, so had a tangerine instead, lol, I go to bed really late.
Then had porridge this morning, using water, boy did that take a while for me to finish, the only thing making it better was the sultanas and the drop of honey, next time im shopping, im stocking up on milk!
You got a fair few meals out of that pork joint, it must have been huge to still throw that amount away.Lose 28lb 3/28lb

I've done that before, turns out looking a lot like wallpaper paste doesn't it! :rotfl: I make mine with water but add a spoonful of low- cal hot chocolate powder, which makes it thick and creamy, and top it with some defrosted frozen berries. Yum and super-cheap too
Glad to hear from you MrsF. V cold and horrible here too today, so much so I've actually put the heating on again for a while as no matter how many jumpers I wear I'm still chilly.0 -
Ive put the heating on also.
I have Cocoa powder and some options drinks, do you mix the hot choc and water together then add the porridge? I want to try this asap, anything that will make it creamy, without the cals, just thinking of my thighs! lol
Lunch was stir fry mix with 1 sandwich pitta, 2 lettuce leaves as wraps and a bit of coleslaw.Lose 28lb 3/28lb
