Hi all, hope you've had a great Easter break and that at least some chocolate got eaten by you all?
My brisket plan didn't quite work out as, when I got to the supermarket, I found a bargain yellow stickered steak so got that instead. Had half of it yesterday with ys veggies and am cooking the other half tonight with a sort of Caesar salad scraped together from bits left in the fridge and the left over roast potatoes from yesterday too. Slightly odd meal I know but I'm looking forward to it and it does use up my odds and ends so is fairly frugal.
I've got no excuse at all for buying the individual cappuccino chocolate fingers from L!dl today but they were only 99p, it is Easter and oh my, they are VERY good! In keeping with this forum I will do my best to keep some back for later in the week but I don't rate their chances of surviving this evening0 -

No cooking for me again today as I've been out at The World Food Market on the Southbank, and eaten my way around most of the stands. Came across a really beautiful stand of cupcakes and the diet went for a burton I'm afraid in the face of one called an 'Elvis' which was a banana cupcake with peanut butter and bacon frosting and little crispy bits of bacon on the top. Sounds disgusting I know, but actually it was gorgeous :rotfl:
^ I read about that market, sounded really good, was tempted to go - but train fares in are bit expensive. Not sure I like the sound of that cake though!
Had wild garlic and mushroom risotto tonight. Enough ingredients to make it tomorrow too then Wed/Thur will be fajitas to use the fresh veg & frozen tofu up then Fri I might get round to cooking the rice/beans for the burritos finally! Have had more meals with family and came home with more food so been using bits of that up so meal plans been put back. Lunches have been bean dips, salads and bread etc and today HG asparagus and fried egg. Made another batch of fairy cakes too. Need to make bread tomorrow. Food spends been quite low this month (for me).0 -
Apologies my dear friends for neglecting you all but I have been enjoying the glorious bank holiday weather.
Friday was spag bolg with mince from freezer.
Saturday we ended up buying pizza from Asd@ (only smart price) when we popped in to get milk etc after a long day in the Trafford center.
Sunday was home grown lamb with all the trimmings.
Last night was left over lamb in a curry and rice.
Tonight is going to be the rest of the lamb with cuscus.House purchased November 2013

Hello all,
Well, after my chocolate/cake indulgence over the weekend (actually, truth is it has been over several weeks!) I've got to climb back on the diet wagon for a while as the combination of stuffing my face and giving up smoking is showing on my waistline! So, my meals will be a bit repetitive for a while and I don't want to bore you with them (suffice to say it will be porridge and berries for breakfast, salad with sardines/tuna for lunch and a low calorie veggie-laden dinner, and the occasional snack of a boiled egg on a cracker if I get hungry).
I hope you won't mind if I continue to lurk here and drool over your meals even if I can't participate in any useful sort of way. Once I've got rid of this bit of excess weight I have promised myself another one of Mrs F's In and Out puddings made with pears and accompanied by chocolate custard. And that cheese sarnie with garlic tomato salsa of Kirri's that I didn't quite get around to trying. And Rachel your meals all sound heavenly to me! Not hard to see why the weight went on is it :rotfl:0 -

Hey guys,
not been on for a while, fell of the wagon a bit.
But 2 packs of sausage meat, 2 white baps and a bag of fries have gone in the freezer, also 2 portions of cheese.
Sometime this week I will either take out the cheese or sausage meat and either make meatballs or burritos, I just either need to buy a tin of tomatoes, or make some tortillas.
Dinner will be some leftover wings I made on Monday with chips and the reduced bag of crispy salad I bought yesterday.Lose 28lb 3/28lb

Dinner tonight was M&S houmous with black onion seed (free), HM 4 seed bread made today, organic M&S salad (free) and I made a grain salad from the cupboard - quinoa, Israeli giant couscous and bulgar wheat cooked in turmeric, with dressing made from a variety of fridge condiments, some HG chives and the last of the radishes from the veg box - turned out really good for a freestyle salad! Got enough for lunch tomorrow.
