In to freezer - HM Apple Pudding.
Out of freezer - HM Egg/Bacon Pie.
We had HM Casserole & Dumplings - FF + roast potatoes & parsnip for dinner.
I cooked a Devonshire In and Out Apple pudding as well.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Dear Florence,
What is an 'in and out' pudding and is the recipe simple enough that a beginner could make it? Looks delicious but my cookery skills only go as far as a fruit crumble to date (but I'm planning to work my way up to Kirri's Victoria sponge eventually!)
Thanks for your help.:)0 -
Hmm, not sure why my pictures are not working - will get the hubby on it.
Tonight was left over lamb with yellow sticker stuffed peppers with potato and cheese sauce. Random but hey its food.House purchased November 2013

I think it is easier than a crumble - no rubbing in.
I find that I use more milk than the recipe says.

Victoria sponge is ideal for beginners too
Mary Berry's book gives you the right amounts for whatever size tins you have, 4 main ingredients, very quick from making to eating
Busy day so been bit lazy in the kitchen. Just toast for lunch and egg, toast and mushrooms again for dinner. Bit lacking in veg but too tired to do anything else when I got home.0 -
Thanks Kirri and Florence
The Victoria sponge will have to wait a little while because I don't have any baking tins to make it in yet (think I might have bought a loaf tin many moons ago but not sure if I'd be able to find it again - it may well have left home due to neglect :rotfl:).
It looks as if I could make the 'in and out' pudding in any oven proof dish though and I'm pretty sure I've got a pyrex thing somewhere that would do.
As you can probably tell, cooking isn't my forte! But on the plus side I have been on a diet for 18 months and have lost over 5 stones to reach my goal weight so looking forward to eating a variety of food again. However, now that I am a size I am happy with I have stopped smoking (now in week 5 as a non-smoker) so I need to be a little bit careful not to regain all that weight as my taste buds start to function again. But I AM going to treat myself to a delicious pudding, so 'in and out' it is then! Will buy the ingredients tomorrow and attempt to make it tomorrow evening and, if I can figure out how, I'll post a photo so you can all laugh at my attempt!
Thanks for all your help so far, really do appreciate it0 -

Wow, that's amazing! Huge congratulations to Mr F and well done on being disciplined enough not to eat all those delicious looking puddings in one go!:)0 -
No freezer movements.
For dinner we had HM Egg & Bacon Pie + roast potatoes/parsnip + roasted red/white onions + peppers + tomatoes.
Also made some JJ's Herby Cheese Bread.

Looools flo you are so straight to the point I love it, I didn't bake-he was obese. No messing around there then.
I have had a great ys day, topside of beef joint, chicken lattice and several Chinese takeaway meals, I was going to have Chinese today as a treat, so saved a bit of money, I've had ribs, egg fried rice and chicken chow mein, enough left for dinner tomorrow.Lose 28lb 3/28lb
