While I don't agree with the attitude of OP towards his coworker, nobody should be subjected to unwanted physical contact or other unacceptable behaviours at work. The only person to blame for the touching is the coworker.
But he feels touching by a supierior is acceptable cos in the ops mind that person is above him. Have you read the thread? It not an invasion of personal space issue, its a pecking order issue.
The fault lies with strider.0 -

Yes I have read the whole thread. Unwanted physical contact is an absolute no no in the workplace, no matter how much of a prat the recipient is.0 -
False logic. People are entitled not to be touched at work if they feel it is inappropriate. That is pretty much absolute for the kind of touching we are talking about here. Even if it is OP's fault, he is still entitled to respect and entitled not to have it happen in the workplace
Context: a lesser touches the op. This is unaccptable.
A higher touches the op in the same manner. This is acceptable as the op holds them in high regard.
The actions are the same its the ops king of the jungle outlook thats wrong.
Unwanted physical contact is wrong. Pecking order dictating if it is acceptable or not is also wrong.0 -

But it is reasonable to assume that the co worker is not aware that this contact is unwanted, given that he sees the OP happily accepting such behaviour from others?0 -

Yes, hence my advice to OP to tell the coworker the behaviour is unwelcome and ask him to stop!!0
