The information I got was over the phone BEFORE I purchased. I like to make sure of what I'm signing up to in advance. I still haven't got ALL the information I asked for, but am reasonably satisfied and likely to place an order.
  • Nickygoat,

That is SO bizarre - thanks for posting the image though. I think I'm just going to adhere to the info I recieved with my phone - I'm sending a passport copy, letter from powergen and the signed T&C's.

When did you order your phone? I wonder is this a new thing they've introduced recently? I didn't get any envelopes either! I might give them a call later and see if I can get some straight answers.

I've just read through the T&C's on the website again and it doesn't actually say the address that we should send cashback claims to - just "the accounts department", god knows where that is!

    It just gets weirder.

I sent in a copy of my passport - page with photo, a copy of electricity bill from EDF energy and a signed copy of the sales order with T&C of sale at the bottom (printed with client signature - my name) together with a covering letter saying that they are for future cashback claims on this contract. I posted them by 1st class unrecorded to Customer Services Department, Unit 4 Venture Way, Aston Science Park, Birmingham B7 4AP.

My plan is that I am going to send these things again together with my 1st and 5th bill in 5 months time when I claim my 1st cashback just in case they manage to misplace them.

Has anyone got the £1.00 credit card authentication fee refunded yet? I am contacting my credit card company to dispute this transaction as this fee is meant to be refunded within 7 working days after it is withdrawn according to the T&C.
  • I have got new contract via mobilphonesontheweb.com with the following spec:
    Phone: S.E K810i
    Network: Voda (500 min + 250 text).
    Price: £35/month for 12 months
    CashBack: ALL (via mobilephonesontheweb).

Received my phone on 14/07/07 and its all new and well packaged.
With the Phone there is an "order form" which i need to send it back with two valid forms of identification. However, no information at all where this should be sent ?

I rang them 16.07.07 they told me the address below to send:

    Mobile Connections
    Proof Department
    756-758 Bordesley Green
    Birmingham
    B9 5PQ

However, this address is not on there site or not even on the order form?
Odd . What address is everyone sending ID to? Does anyone been told this address?
  • Hi Natural,

This is the address that I was told yesterday as well (although they missed out the "proof department" bit).

Did you get a flyer saying that this ID had to be returned within 7 days? Some of us did, and some not, so it's all a bit confusing. I'm sending the signed T&c's, passport photocopy and a utility bill.

Let us know how it goes.

  • Hi DJ

There was no flyer came with the phone.

    T&C no 7.1 states:
I understand that I will only be entitled to claim cashback credits after mobilephonesontheweb.com have received two validforms of identification and signed copy of the terms and conditions of sale.
As you can see there is no mention of 7 days odd !

The “Order Form” is dated as of 11.07.07, and I'm sending the proof if ID and order form back today 17.07.07 with the recorder delivery.

    Document I'm sending:
    1. Covering Letter with my mobile number, cashback code and detailing what I'm sending.
    2. My Full Driving license Photo Card.
    3. NPOWER GAS BILL.
I will send this information again in month 5 (just in case) when first cashback is due...

I have been told to claim cashback at the following address:

    Accounts Department
    Mobile Connections
    756-758 Bordesley Green
    Birmingham
    B9 5PQ

I'm concerned about the address on there website is different and also on the order form?

    What do you think?

    Cheers,
    Natural.

    Guys
My order on 2nd July STILL hasn't arrived. Do you think I should give up the wait and cancel? It's been 15 days. Feeling miserable. Guess their deals were too good to be true afterall.

Mine arrived after third day via royal mail "special delivery"
I would give them a ring to chase up the order.

I have found that there customer service always in so much hurry whenever you call them  Don't know why is that...

    update from me:
ordered phone on 5th july, requested number port
chased again today 17th july as phone not received: same reply that waiting for vodafone to port the number before they can send the phone. I told them that i have spoken to vodafone and they ported the number on 13th. a silence on their side, put on hold, then told that the phone was shipped yesterday so i will receive it today or tomorrow.
so i go back home, check with the porters (block of flats with porters) and they actually received the phone on the 10th!!! as royal mail was on strike, they decided to dump all the mail at porters but not inform any residents that there was mail for them!
so till, now everyday when i rang mpotw, they never really checked the status and kept on saying they are still waiting for the number to be ported.

ok, now about the sending the id. just been on phone and they have told to post it to unit 4, venture way address. now i am confused where to send it to, as to others they have given a different address.

i also challenged that i still have not received my £1 back, they said that it was a charge and it is in their terms, they dont intend to return it. i kept on saying that their terms mention they will refund after 7 days, but they denied these terms!

not very pleasant experience at all at the moment. not sure whether they will honour any cashback .....

i suggest everyone who has taken a contract to ring for the payment of £1, as if they cant honour this, how will they honour bigger payments later on...

    Hi pksaraf,

Have you send the ID to them yet? And what address are you gone use?
I have already sent it today as in the above post number #65.

    Proof Department
    Mobile Connections
    756-758 Bordesley Green
    Birmingham
    B9 5PQ

This company does look a bit dodgy it seems that they operate under many different names:
    Mobilephoneontheweb.com
    Mobileconnectionsonline.com

Does anyone manage to get cashback from them at all?
I will find out in 5 months time. Keep updated guys.
