Incidentally, the reason why I placed my latest order through these guys are because they let you claim your cashback in just 4 instalments - which is the fewest among the lot plus £30 cashback from Quidco. Buymobilephones.net also requires 4 instalments but they require you to send all the previous bills since your last claim and cashback from Quidco is only £20 (or £30 for 3 network).
Anyone else e.g. Coolnewmobile, The Mobile Outlet, Phoneboxdirect, Mobileshop, e2save, Onestophoneshop, etc. will require you claim it in 5 or even 6 instalments.0 -
I know AP. However, the claims are later and so if you work out the cash-flow you'll find it's not as good. However, the main thing is obviously that they're still around in 13 months' time and you can force them to pay - which is what I think is the most likely response from them on what I've had and seen so far! I will follow with great interest since I was close as a whisker to getting a contract from them and would still consider if I know I can make them pay up as stated!0

Unfortunately, I had already ordered my mobile phone through MPOTW before I read these posts, it came on the 11th July. I hadn't had any problems with them at all throughout the ordering process. After I had read the posts on this site, I realised I needed to send proof of ID and the signed T&Cs, there was no time limit on this according to everything I had read. I rang 0800 0888796, a number from their site because the customer services number was constantly engaged, and then put me on hold, so rather than run up a bill I rang the freephone number. The call was answered straight away, but the line was really bad. I asked the girl if I needed to return my T&Cs and proof of ID, she said yes and tried to give me the Bordesley address, but I couldn't hear her properly and kept having to ask her to repeat herself, in the end I asked her to e-mail me, this was Monday and I still haven't received it. Instead, I have sent proof of ID and T&Cs to both the addresses. I also e-mailed customer services on Monday and I have only just received the automated message to say they will be touch, today.
I read really bad reports about the Mobileconnections people who they ask you to send your T&Cs to, and I am not holding out much hope of getting any cashback, I will keep reading the posts until then.
This is a really good site to get advice, thanks :j0 -
Wouldn't hold your breath waiting for email replies! No such thing as "customer services" at this place. I'll bet they didn't even send you an email saying the phone was on its way?0

I ended up not taking up the offer. I would have if I was looking for that type of contract anyway, because then there is really no risk. I ended up getting a Sony Ericsson k810i on Pay as you go for £125 in an auction instead. Good luck to all you guys that have taken out a contract, I hope it goes well for you.0

AP, any news from your credit card company?
I got the £1 refund credited back to my credit card account on 27/07/07, but under the description 'Goodwill Gesture'. It seems like for such a small amount, the credit card company simply re-imburses you if you dispute it with reasons, supported by appropriate documentary evidence. I had hoped that they applied a 'Chargeback' for this amount to mobilephonesontheweb.com and take it straight back from their bank account but looks like this isn't the case.0 -

Its not worth credit card companys charging back anything below about £10, due to the time and costs involved. They just write it off.0 -
Well...today I've gone for a free W850i, 12 months free(?) on a 12 month contract thru MPOTW. It wouldn't allow me to sign up online! Had to process the order over the phone...
Anyway they said the phone will be delivered during the week, took £1 out of my a/c, and they sent me a confirmation email.
I've thoroughly read the terms & conditions, so hopefully it should all run smoothly... :cool:0 -
Ah... there's a real optimist...!0
