  • HI Jason,

welcome to MSE. I got the confirmation email pretty quickly, but I wouldn't get too worried yet; if they've tracked your Quidco payment, they will definately have registered the order.

Additionally, when I got the confirmation email, it had details of the phone and contract on it, including total cashback due.

Let us know how you get on.

unfortunately, it seems that i have had a worrying start with this co. as well. i went for a voda contract 7 days ago with a request to port my number across. so far all i have is a order confirmation email and nothing else. i have been ringing them on a daily basis - all i am told is that they are waiting for vodafone to confirm a port date and they cant do anything before vodafone comes back to them. now i know that porting can take 5 days, but surely they should be able to get a port date sooner or atleast send me the mobile with a temporary number? so after 7 days, all i am doing is just waiting to hear from them ....

My understanding is that this is the way vodafone work - they won't send the handset out with a temporary number/sim... and ports do take 7 days. I would have thought you should get it about now though.

planetf1, i understand port takes 7 days, but in my case, arranging a port date is taking more than 7 days. port will take a further time once the port is actually arranged.

Well, at last (and rather unexpectedly after 3 weeks of trying, numerous emails, two telephone calls TO their sales department AND two complaints) I finally had an expected call from these people today.

They have answered my initial questions and some more which I thought of later and provided I am happy with something else I'm waiting for from them I am thinking of taking the plunge. I am not inspired by the feedback on their sister name site (all negative) or by the fact that the Everplus website (the company which actually owns them) was "temporarilly" down all day yesterday, but thought I'd also update people on two of the things I did find out (amongst others).

    1) You can no longer fax claims.
    2) You need to send in copies of two documents, one including a photo id and the other confirmation of address when you get the phone.

I have found out some more information that was useful to me and although the cashback cash-flow is quite late in the 12 months because of the structure I am now very disillusioned with Mobile Affiliates (where I WAS planning to take out a third contract) so thought I'd branch out and spread my risk - especially because the deals are at least as good and in some cases better. Of course, I COULD be wrong - but I won;t know until I try them out!

Not sure why they would required a photo ID? How is photo ID actually relevant to purchasing a mobile phone contract on the Internet? If I'm not mistaken photo IDs are useful when you are dealing face to face so you can prove that you indeed are who you say you are... very confused

EEk guys I'm feeling a bit anxious now. I have waited 10 days. (Has anyone else waited this long so far?) No phone. Though I was porting a number AND I did call vodaphone and they confirmed the port had been done (at least) I'm really hoping it arrives any day!!:o

The postal strike will have something to do with the delay as they use Royal Mail Special Delivery to send the phone. I place my order on 25/06/07, which was processed on 28/06/07 and I did not receive the phone until 04/07/07 because of the postal strike.

To avoid complications, I always have a new number each year instead of porting my old number as no matter how careful and meticulous you are in doing things, you cannot prevent other people from making mistakes on your affairs.
  • Just to give some detail about my ordering process:

Ordered phone at about 10am on 20th June
    Confimation email 21st June
Phone arrived 23rd June (special delivery)

Came with a Vodafone SIM, port sucessfully activated on 28th.

Bearing in mind the post office strike is on again today and a lot of companies are still dealing with backlogs from the last one, so that might be the problem. I checked with Vodafone and they were able to give me the port date; mobileohonesontheweb didn't have a clue.

Hope your phones arrive soon! Fingers crossed.

I still have not had the £1.00 credit card authentication fee refunded back to my account. It is now well over 7 working days when it was charged to my credit card account on 27/06/07 and I am going to contact my credit card company to dispute the transaction and arrange a chargeback. There have only been standard acknowledgements from the 2 e-mails (1 to complaints department) I sent them about this matter.

Thanks all for his additional info. I've just got out my copy of the T&C's in a panic, as I'm well past the 7 day thing.

Mine don't say anything about sending the ID in within 7 days, just that "I will only be entitles to claim cashback credits after mobilephonesontheweb have recieved two valid forms of identification and a signed copy of the terms and conditions of sale".

Odd. What adress is everyone sending the ID to?

    Unit 4
    Venture Way
    Aston Science Park
    Birmingham

That's the only one I can find. I'll send the ID off tomorrow.

My T&C's don't mention anything about 7 days either but the flier does.

Here's a copy of the flier:

    http://img154.imageshack.us/my.php?image=mobileconnectionsflierkq9.jpg

Note that it says within 7 days. It also says a copy of signature but only asks for the front of the card - i.e no signature. And unlike mobilejunkie they haven't asked for a copy of my photo (still confused about that one :) ).

And I sent it to the address on the flier (Bordesley Green) - they included 5 envelopes with the addresses pre printed on them, one for proofs and 4 for Accounts for the cashback.

I'll post the T&C's later if I get time.

    Anyway, to recap:

My phone arrived on time (about 3 working days), my port happened on time (about 3 days after the phone arrived so 6 working days in total) so quite happy with that. I haven't had any need to contact them yet so I can't comment.
