    I hate to say it....

I've had precisely the same - JUST like phones4U they send an automated response with a promise that someone will contact you and then no-one ever does. I had the phone put down on me by their sales person yesterday after spending 15 minutes attempting to get at least clear and believable answers to a few specific questions. I didn't get very far; I know factually one statement was completely wrong and in the end did not get a satisfactory answer to even question number one.

I was seriously contemplating two orders in the very near future (plus potentially some friends and family) but your experience is what I suspected and have encountered myself. If it's this impossible BEFORE they have your contract, what chance once they have? Really annoying - will be interested to follow your experiences. Posting them is a great help!

Well, at last (and rather unexpectedly after 3 weeks of trying, numerous emails, two telephone calls TO their sales department AND two complaints) I finally had an expected call from these people today.

They have answered my initial questions and some more which I thought of later and provided I am happy with something else I'm waiting for from them I am thinking of taking the plunge. I am not inspired by the feedback on their sister name site (all negative) or by the fact that the Everplus website (the company which actually owns them) was "temporarilly" down all day yesterday, but thought I'd also update people on two of the things I did find out (amongst others).

    1) You can no longer fax claims.
    2) You need to send in copies of two documents, one including a photo id and the other confirmation of address when you get the phone.

I have found out some more information that was useful to me and although the cashback cash-flow is quite late in the 12 months because of the structure I am now very disillusioned with Mobile Affiliates (where I WAS planning to take out a third contract) so thought I'd branch out and spread my risk - especially because the deals are at least as good and in some cases better. Of course, I COULD be wrong - but I won;t know until I try them out!
  • Thanks for this mobilejunkie.

Shame that you cannot fax claims in anymore, but that just brings them in line with everyone else, so it's not such a big drama. I've been to the Everplus website, and it's always been up when I've visited, so it might be a genuine problem.

Did they confirm about the two forms of ID? If so, that's pretty sneaky! Ah well, that just shows the value of reading the T&C's to the letter.

Do you know what address you should send them to?

I've been with Coolnewmobile for the past year and have had no problems, so fingers crossed for these guys. Keep us all updated.

Hi; I didn't ask about the address - did ask quite a lot and assumed that would be with the documents if/when I do order - or will call to check if not.

I have one contract with Cool and another with Phonebox and was reasonably happy until recently, as I'm sure you've noticed with them from your own point of view. They have definitely lost my next and probable subsequent orders but I am pretty determined and organised so still expect to get my claims dealt with effectively. Shame though. Let's hope this outfit prove to be ok; again, I always try to have a back-up plan!! They DID confirm that copies of bills would suffice for your information - though I plan to get a more definite confirmation of that!

I ordered from them and it all seems to have gone quite well so far.

Received my phone a few days after ordering, Quidco tracked Ok.

Had to send off the 2 forms of ID and the T&C sheet (copied and scanned into my computer first - it has the cashback number on it. A little bit sneaky if you're not aware of it.)

The advantage for me is that under my terms if I miss a cashback then I don't !!!!!! up the whole lot just that instalment. Although whether I get the cashback in the first place or not remains to be seen.

Does anyone receive a refund of the £1.00 credit card authentication fee back from them? Under the terms and conditions of sale, it states that this £1.00 fee is purely for authentication purposes and will be refunded to your account within a maximum of 7 working days from the time at which it is withdrawn. I still have not received mine back when this was charged to my credit card account on 27/06/07.

Regarding the 2 forms of ID and a signed copy of the T&C of sale, do you have to send it off now or when you claim your 1st cashback in 5 months time? Also, do they have to be sent by recorded delivery?

    Haven't received my £1 back - but I haven't looked for a few days.

The package came with a T&C sheet and a flyer with what to do on it. The flyer stated that the ID had to be returned within 7 days of connection or they would disconnect you. The T&C just states that it has to be returned to be eligible for cashback. I hedged my bets and got it back within 7 days.

For ID I used a copy (front page only - as per T&C) of my bank account (they have this info already), and my BT bill (they have my address, and if they're that bothered about how much I spend on my land line they should just ask).

I sent it Special Delivery because I was a bit tardy getting it ready within 7 days. I think I'll send all my stuff Special Delivery (I have another phone from PhoneBox Direct) because of the Consequential Loss Insurance. The Quidco payments will cover the costs of that.

Thanks! My phone was connected on 28/06/07 but because of the postal strike, I did not receive it until 04/07/07. My package came with the Order Form with the T&C printed at the bottom. Interestingly, it also printed:

Client Signature: (My name) - Date: 28/06/2007 12:57:56

The flier that came with it simply says: "... If you haven't received your Order Form and CCC either in this pack or within 7 working days of receiving your phone, you should contact us using the details below. ..."

It doesn't say anything about ID had to be returned within 7 days of connection. I have been connected for more than 7 days since 28/06/07 and I have not returned the IDs and the signed T&C - which I am going to do tomorrow. Surely if anything is not right according to their T&C I would have been disconnected by now!
  • Thanks all for his additional info. I've just got out my copy of the T&C's in a panic, as I'm well past the 7 day thing.

Mine don't say anything about sending the ID in within 7 days, just that "I will only be entitles to claim cashback credits after mobilephonesontheweb have recieved two valid forms of identification and a signed copy of the terms and conditions of sale".

Odd. What adress is everyone sending the ID to?

    Unit 4
    Venture Way
    Aston Science Park
    Birmingham

That's the only one I can find. I'll send the ID off tomorrow.

  • Hi Guys, can I just say that this site is really helpful in deciding what to take the risks on!

I decided yesterday that to go for an LG- Prada with 7 months free line rental and Quidco registered it just 7hours later...however I'm still yet to recieve a comfirmation email

I decided to go for this deal mostly because it's only 12months (as oppose to 18 on most similar websites) so if there is a problem I'm only tied to the contract for 1 year.

May major concern seems to be the same as most peoples with these cash back deals, either the company goes bankrupt (disappears and reappears under a new name) or for some reason they'll wriggle out of paying you the mone back.

I must confess after reading some other experiences I'm starting to wonder if I should have taken Vodaphone up on their offer of 9months half price line rental...but I'm in now and I was given the phone for free (also surprising) so I wont be crushed if do end up having to pay the contact.

I'll post my experience as I go so other people can make the decision.

ONE OTHER THING...it's worth printing the web site page with your offer on it. In the past people have had "cashback" companies try and claim they didn't offer you the deal you think they did!
