They already do if you don't have a small hand bag you can take on.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0

 They do indeed
However some people want EJ to put it down in their TCs exactly what would be allowed and what wouldn't rather than their current flexible approach.Change is inevitable, except from a vending machine.0

It might be flexible, but it is also uncertain. Passengers want certainty because uncertainty increases the stress of travelling. They do indeed

But you end up with rigid rules [a la Ryanair] and for my money the flexible approach is a lot better experience all round.
I don't know how many complaints there are on here regarding RA, but I would bet the largest majority of them are complaining about them sticking to the letter of the rules and having no room for compromise whatsoever.
(for my sins) I get to travel home via Dublin every few weeks and I usually end up having to kill time at the airport.
The best entertainment going is a RA gate for a Lanzarote flight, I'm sure those flying don't quite find it as entertaining as I do though.
And it's all about RA sticking resolutely to hand luggage rules.Change is inevitable, except from a vending machine.0

My son had his Cabin Baggage taken off him and put in the hold on a flight from Barcelona recently. He asked for a carrier bag to put his book and a few personal effects, but was refused. He was informed he was not allowed ANY baggage only what would fit in his coat pocket. The EasyJet member of staff said he had been told by Head Office that these were the rules As he was only had a fleece jacket with very limited pocket space, it was extremely limited what he could put in the small pockets. It does aappear that some of the EasyJet Overseas staff get different instructions from those at UK airports. He very annoyed and wished that the rules (regarding that nothing would be allowed if your cabin baggage was put into the hold) had been made cleared to him on booking. It does seem a bit "Hit and Miss" as how it is intrupted by the staff. That is why my vote goes for EasyJet to make the rule clear on booking .It does not state one way or the other.0

We went to Lanzarote earlier this year with the larger size cabin baggage. We were allowed to take them on board. However Easyjet did not allow some passengers to do so and they were only permitted to take any medical supplies on board with them. Whilst we were delighted it does seem unfair that the same rule does not apply to everyone. Perhaps it depends on how early you book in or get to the departure gate. I do agree this issue should be clarified on EasyJets website0

We received several E Mails from Easyjet before departure reminding us of the rules regarding cabin baggage. All very efficient and clear. No problems but there were instisting that handbags and anything else you carried was put in your cabin bag. They also made all passengers on the return flight wear their coat/ jacket etc. and would not allow passengers to carry them on. We had no complaints and thought it was very fair and you were made abundantly clear of the rules well in advance.0

It does. I flew on a full EJ flight recently and they were tagging the larger bags at the gate, just in case they needed to go in the hold. They started doing this when about half the passengers had gone through. When we got on the plane they looked for some tagged bags as they were short of room. They told the owners to take out anything they needed for the flight and then put the bags in the hold. So these were bags that had made it on to the plane (and in 2 cases had made it to the overhead lockers) but they were removed straight from the plane to the hold.
Outbound the flight had also been full and they were tagging bags at the front of the plane. They did give people time to remove what they needed for the flight.
So outbound it was bags that couldn't fit in the overhead lockers and inbound it was pre-tagged bags.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Anything you need for your flight. I saw people taking out books, medicines, tablets, medicines, purses without issue. Cabin staff were telling people to make sure they had their passports with them.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
