I wish to heavens I could blame my high BMI on just my thyroid, but alas not. I was big anyway but the hypothyroid didnt help, earlier this year I put a stone on in a week which is actually quite impressive!

And alas the thyroid medication does not seem to make it easier to lose weight, all it seems to be doing is making it harder to put weight on. It still does funny things with it though, in October I lose 9lbs in 10 days :T only to put back on 8lbs the next week!:rotfl:

If your thyroid levels are low then you are more likely to be hyperthyroid than hypothyroid that I am.

So unfortunately any weight gain is more to do with the increase in appetite as being hyper is more linked with weight loss! :D

My thyroid levels are high, which I understood to mean the thyroid is underactive - sorry I think I had it the other way around above!

Anyway, the doc has me on medication and will get another test in a few weeks. Not sure I like the idea of my weight bouncing around too much!

Can you do a little summary of your status and history? Just a couple of lines - it's easier if you do it rather than me. :)

Just put in a post and I'll copy it to the front.

TTC for 10 years, all tests clear on both me and hubby, unexplained infertility, miscarried twins April 2012

bigmomma - I think most people here post on both threads. Even I'm still on the list on the main thread, for no real reason it seems!

I must admit that after so many years I tend not to read the other thread so much. It just doesn't seem like somewhere I belong anymore, like most people there live in a different world to me!

Hmm, starting to feel that way too. I'm never going to get pregnant naturally so I don't know why I still post there. Maybe to share the information I've picked up on the way.

Do you guys think I should contact the fertility clinic? We've still not heard anything. I know they said 12 weeks, and it's only really been 8, but I'm starting to worry they didn't get our form.

In my experience, a follow up/chase up call is always a good idea. Just be polite and have an excuse ready 'oh, the doctor wasn't clear if I had to call to book an appointment at 12 weeks, or wait for you to get in touch'

Also, on the other thread, I feel like a weird old-timer. If you say you have been trying for 3 years people freak out! Someone there once said 'stop complaining everyone, consider yourself lucky when you see how bad things are for T2D and (another poster)'.

I'm pretty sure it was meant well in a strange way, but it was really hurtful at the time. Since then I've not felt like telling my story too much to new people in case something similar is said. No-one wants to be the cautionary tale...

Ah, yes. I'm a good at doing the I'm a dummy routine because I actually am. I'll call them on Monday if I can find some privacy at work.

code I would ring them, piece if mind for you, and if something has gone amiss, then hopefully they can sort out the appt for you.

partmouse good luck with the injections.

I don't contribute much on the other board, but sometimes it is nice to be reminded that people can get pregnant, even if I can't! (Or maybe I'm sadistic!)

Went for dinner with a friend yesterday who got pregnant by accident (although with her husband, so not some random). She knows I've been ttc for a while, although not the full gory details, and said
You should go to France for a holiday and just relax. Worked for us.
I don't think I've ever felt like slapping a pregnant lady before, but there is a first time for everything.
    Just putting it out there....

    Rant over.
