Welcome vesper. Sadly there have been quite a few people move across recently.

Re the lists - I'm away now for a week so I'm not updating them, so feel free to come up with appropriate categories while I'm away. :)

I'm still bleeding a bit, but not worryingly. I've got some first aid supplies and will hopefully be OK for the week. Feeling very stressed for some reason - hopefully I can relax while we are away.

I do actually have some TTC news. My NHS ivf funding has been approved, next appointment in early November - but I'm already down to start with the Lister! I'll stick with the lister (as they know me and my dodgy body, and have been working directly with my oncologist) but I guess I should do the NHS one as well as it will move slowly. If I have another go it would be nice to not have to pay.

You might find it possible to get the NHS to fund your cycle at the Lister. The clinic I went to was where most people in our area get referred, regardless of whether they're private or NHS.

I've cut out tea and alcohol at the moment ever since I found out a friend of a friend cut out caffeine and alcohol after 2 yrs TTC and - boom - got preggers). Plus was trying to give my last few naturally trying months a good shot before IVF.

I am desperately craving a cocktail. This is harder than cutting out chocolate!

We all do what we need to do to make us feel like we're giving it our best shot, but bear in mind that there's absolutely no evidence to suggest that light drinking and moderate caffeine consumption affects fertility x.

Thanks all. It is good news - now I just need to win that Lister competition too. ;)

I tried to get them to transfer it to the Lister but they wouldn't agree. Not sure I understand the logic as they have agreed the funding, but who am I to argue with bureaucracy.

My good friend is tonight preparing for embryo transfer tomorrow after a long journey (same as mine). Only one little embryo still fighting after four days, from seven eggs and four fertilised, so please fingers crossed for her! God its so stressful even with it not being me. I don't know if I'll cope when it's my turn.
  • Fingers crossed for your friend Time2Deal :)

Just wondered everyone..... I am feeling the pressure, I think in part, because nobody apart from my OH & me really know that we are trying (apart from stupid friend who made the comment etc and to be fair, she only knew we were trying for the last couple of months, not for the length of time we really have been) ..... I think i don't want ppl to know because they will feel sorry for us etc and if it never happens, then we dont HAVE to admit that we are sad etc... none of my family knows ..

Have you told people? Or do u keep it to yourself?
Baldrick, does it have to be this way? Our valued friendship ending with me cutting you up into strips and telling the prince that you walked over a very sharp cattle grid in an extremely heavy hat?

Hi PM I'm ok. Hope you're feeling better after going to A&E and your OH is taking care of you.

    Hi vesper :hello:.
Congrats about NHS funding T2D. Fingers crossed for your friend tomorrow, I hope her embryo is a sticky one.

Bigmomma, we've told family, friends and some people at work (need time off for IVF) and so far everyone's been hopeful for us or interested/supportive. It's been a relief and taken some of the stress out of TTC and IVF. It's definitely stopped the instrusive questions and stupid comments.

I'm worried about the predicted storm as I have my first scan & blood test tomorrow at 8.30am to check stimulation and have to collect more medication. Unfortunately my train company might cancel trains until 9am. Hoping I can travel into London at some point tomorrow.

    Thanks for the hullos.

Bigmomma, only 3 of my friends know properly and all of our problems. My FIL knows some, but only because of hubby having had mumps so it stems from there. My parents don't know anything really at all, my dad knew that I had a miscarriage years ago but not sure he thinks it was the truth, and he won't let me tell my mum (she lost her first child when he was 2 weeks old, so we don't discuss baby things).
I did yell at them a few weeks ago during an argument that they hadn't got a clue what it was like to think you were never going to be a mum. But to be frank it's not a discussion I can have with them at the moment.

Thanks T2D - I'll update for this on Thurs as I have my IVF appointment. If all our results are OK we will probably be going in for IVF on my next cycle (probs this time next month as I'm CD1 today) eeeeek!
Good luck at your appointment. I was similar to you - had my appointment a few days after starting my cycle. By your appointment all of the places for this month will be taken up, so... we'll be IVF buddies in December and January.

    Thanks PM.
Unfortunately all trains before 9am are now cancelled so my plan is to ring the clinic then get there as soon as I can.
