Hey, me too, code. OH's knackers purely decorative really so we had ICSI too. You only need one little swimmer and they can suck those straight out the billy-ballbag if need be.

Lol fluff, that's exactly what I was trying to say :) x

Hugs code. I can only echo what the others have said about ICSI. A poor SA isn't the end of road.

    How are things today PM?

    Evening ladies.

Lots of hugs needed it seems. PM, Code and MrsDavo especially. Hope you are at least enjoying your Saturday night. We are at home in front of X-factor as we are every week. Getting a bit dull in our old age.

I'm worrying slightly about some bleeding at the moment. It's from the operation, but its getting a little heavier, and vague feeling like thrush. I'm off on holidays on Monday (the Dublin this wasn't proper holiday) so no chance to see a doc. I'm sure it's fine... but slightly worrying. I'll pick up some canesten from boots tomorrow and cross fingers.

I have travel insurance, but it specifically excludes anything arising from cervical cancer. It seems once you have cancer you are virtually un-insurable! Anyway, a long long way from cancelling the holiday, but making me a little tense tonight. We may have other problems, as we are flying from Gatwick very early on Monday!! We will most likely be delayed by the weather.

And a big welcome to PommeVerte and bigmomma05104

Am literally laughing out loud at the thought of anyone's billy ballbags being decorative! They're hardly the most aesthetically pleasing things :)

Reminds me of the Family Guy episode where Meg has mumps

Dr. Hartman: Really? Well, I caution you, that getting the mumps as an adult could result a serious complications. In some cases the symptoms could spread to the testicular glands.
Peter: Big deal, so I wear socks.
Dr. Hartman: Mr. Griffin, your testicles are not on your feet.
    Peter: Oh, where are they?
    Dr. Hartman: Under your penis.
Peter: Are you kidding? I always thought those were two little sandbags to keep floodwaters from floating into my bum. No, no. I'm just poking at your funny bone. I am quite alarmed.

There are a few reasons why results can be poor. When ours came back with no sperm they redid a SA a month later. It was our FS who had a feel about and could tell that hubby had no vas deferns and did the bloods to confirm.

Which bloods were done to confirm this ??

Code, don't panic after one SA (easier said than done I know). If the test isn't carried out quickly enough, or in the right conditions, you can get rubbish results. Also, men have much more capacity for improving poor results with lifestyle changes/vitamins etc.

Any suggestions on vitamins/lifestyle changes ??

I think our problem is that the pH was very acide (5), which should be between 7 and 8, which in turn causes defects, low motility and vitality. If we get the same results in 3 months time, we'll be referred to a Urologist to check for anomalies with regards to seminal tubes etc. Then my FS said that we'll be referred for artificial insemination.

I bought some Pre-seed, it says that it makes the cervical mucus more alcaline, so maybe that could help OH's little swimmers trapped in their acidic fluid !? Who knows !

We're both so down about it all :( it doesnt help that all our friends are always asking us when we're going to start trying for a baby. I think once we get the results of the 2nd SA we'll tell our close friends so that they stop asking us. It breaks my heart every time they ask !

Hope you're all well, hugs to you all
