AFM!!
Still blushing now
I have just called them up - the receptionist said she would get a specialist to take a peek at my results this afternoon and call only if there is an issue.
As you say MrsDavo I would much rather know if no ovulation as then I will not be expecting anything. As far as I know I usually ovulate, so Clomid is being used as a hopeful booster before IVF is authorised.0 -
Can I ask how you got your blood results? Did they ring you or did you call them... I wasn't expecting an update unless there is a problem.
I have an embarassing confession - I am quite a novice at forums and I am not up with acronyms, and for the past few weeks I have been thinking that AFM meant Aunty Flo Mucus.... Just googled to discover that it is 'As for me' That makes much more sense :rotfl:
Lol at the aunty flow mucus.
Thanks for the yays everyone.have been doing cheky tests and ofcourse bfn should be 14 dpo on fri.
Mrs davo the waits a killer isnt it. I hope you ov.0 -
Hey all!
I'm usually on the other ttc thread but seeing as its been 20 months I'm going to slowly move over here.
Quick life story, me and my partner, both 39/40 been trying to conceive since Jan 2012, he's lucky, his little swimmers are all perfect
I have a high BMI and we found out in May/June that I have hypothyroidism (i.e my thyroid doesnt work properly), this conincides with my periods getting lighter and lighter this year until they did stop. I now havent had the real AF visit since April.
At the hospital now where I've had one dose of Provera which showed I wasnt ovulating and I have no PCOS. Unfortunately my thyroid wont behave and my TSH levels are still really high.
My specialist thinks it is my weight and thyroid issues that are stopping me ovulating and conceiving. After going yesterday we have 3 lots of Provera in the hope of getting an appt for a HSG. If it isnt happening in 3 months time, provided I have still lost weight we will be trying Clomid.
So thats me and life story! I do have one question though, these Soy ISOs, is it worth trying them, or waiting till I'm on the Clomid and wheres the best place to get them from?
Thanks people!0 -
Hi slinky hope the hospital manage to help x
Now for some comic relief! Just had a phone call from someone called James who is 22 and attends Manchester university. His reason for calling ? Well apparently James likes breasts and wanted to ask me a few questions about mine??!!!!???? Obviously once I stopped laughing I put the phone down. !!!!!!?
Also had to laugh at the afm so all in all feeling a bit more cheerful !
Hugs all x0 -
A nurse has called me back, she has my CD21 blood results and she said that the progesterone is very high... it should be about 30 and it's 190.
She asked if I had suffered any pain either side, so I confirmed discomfort if not sharp pain, but I have felt pressure, had spotting on CD19 and in general most definitely felt different to a normal cycle.
She said in usual cases when levels are raised they would suggest a reduction in dose down to 3 tablets instead of the 5 (so only on CD2,CD4 &CD6) however as the results are very high (in her opinion) it may be best if I skip the next month and have a blood test again to see if it settles down.
She will speak to the consultant tomorrow and is ringing me back. I'm feeling a bit gutted now, I was secretly hoping that all the twinges and different feelings were signs of a BFP, but it is looking like I am just mega sensitive to Clomid...
Does anyone know of any other medication they may suggest? Or is Clomid the only option on the NHS?0 -

Congrats PM. Fingers crossed this is you second and last 2ww.
And welcome slinky. If you want you can do a little 3-4 line summary and I'll add you to the first post. Have a look at the ones that are there, but feel free to freestyle however you want to show it.
So, AFM, (LOL about that mistake!) things went fine yesterday, if slowly. Didn't go in until after 4pm. The doctor said he opened up the cervical canal quite a lot, and there was old blood there. He removed a lot of scar tissue, and put in a copper coil - which is a bit depressing. No surprise BFP for me now! The coil is to ensure the canal stays open, and will be removed during IVf. I mean it clearly wasn't likely that I would get pregnant naturally, so I know it's the best thing, but I can't help but feel a little upset that the chance it completely removed.
Anyway, I feel fine. Little bit crampy, and bring on IVF next month.
It seems there was no chance of me getting pregnant though. I was retaining blood, and the canal (or OS technically) was basically blocked. Somehow this makes me feel slightly better - it wasn't a failure of my hormones or DH's little guys, just a block. So I am removing 1 year from my TTC history!! I know it doesn't mean anything, but somehow makes me feel a little better.0 -
Glad to hear that the procedure went to plan time2deal, and you have some answers regarding why things have been taking their time for you.
IVF next month - how exciting!!0 -
