RG - all sounds great! hope everything goes well for you.
Loveactually - sounds so exciting. am keeping everything crossed for you!
AFM - went for my app today. Had height, weight and bloods done. Had another internal scan. I was told in my HSG and last scan 1 yr ago that my left fallopian tube was blocked but today they found nothing wrong and said everything looked healthy. A little confused at how its all right now but on the positive side I wont need an op to remove it and can start IVF soon.
Have a briefing app in 2 wks and then a further app to discuss treatment timescales before the treatment will commence.
Hope everyone is well xx0 -
Thanks for providing the time frame sewit.
Getting there - it is all very exiting but scared at the sametime.
Any idea when they are starting your treatment.
Need some suggestions ladies - what do I need to do in preparation of my body for IVF I am already doing the following:
Taking pregnacare conception vitamins
Eating healthy and my 5a day
Getting my protein from chicken, eggs and lentils as I am lactose intolerant.
I have heard that's its good if I keep my tummy warm and not cold so planning to buy a heating pad.
Is there anything else I can do please advice.Saving goal for BTL mortgage - 28600 / 60000 ( July 2021) , 37600/60000 (December 2021) , 39300 / 60000 (august 2022) , 41000/60000 ( January 2023)0 -
Good luck ladies, sorry I'm not posting much. Not feeling good and still bleeding.0

Hugs PM xxx Think you probably derserve a dodgy group hug as well :grouphug:
loveactually - the only extra things I'd suggest doing are ones you're probably doing anyway. Things like not eating too much rubbish and making sure to drink 8 glasses of water a day. Might be worth investigating getting hold of a positive thinking IVF CD if you think it may help. I have one (The IVF Belief CD) and I think it's helped me feel a lot calmer and not stress too much about things.
SewIt/Fairy/RG - how are you all?
I did my first Gonal-f injection this morning (I'm now officially stimming :j); the anticipation was definitely worse than the actual event. The needle was very thin and I didn't feel it at all - apart from a bit of a c0ck-up where I put the needle in so I couldn't see the readings (and then had to turn it round) and also not pressing the button down hard enough, I think it went okay
Huge amounts of good luck tomorrow RG xxx0 -
Thanks fp glad the injection went better than you thought.
I feel like all I always do is moan.i think the bleedings really taking its toll now.0 -
Hugs PM - Really wish I could give you a hug for real, your having such a crap time :-(
RG - Great Haul.. Good Luck!
Good Luck also to the Follie Four!
Tea - have you rang that job yet?
AFM :
It's back on clomid as I knew, going straight on the 150mg CD2-6 as before. Day 21 Bloods is the only monitoring, they aren't willing to do anything else monitoring wise.
They are also not willing to help any more than Clomid. She said if this doesn't make me ovulate the first month, we will do a second, possibly a third.
Next Appointment is 7th Aug.
If it does get me ovulating then she is willing to let me be on it ( ovulating ) for 12 months. After that we have to pay for IVF ourselves. She did suggest egg sharing to us because I have a child already, so generally should have good eggs, they just won't come out!
Surprisingly OH said " Yes we will definitely consider that " which surprised me considering a year ago his opinion was " We will never pay for IVF, we should be happy with what we have "
Guess it's just waiting on AF now to start again.
Can I please be updated to say :
Clomid 150mg, and Metformin 1500mg to try and induce ovulation, Next App 7th August 14.0 -
Just stopping by to say to Tea, I was job hunting and moving to a different country during IVF. I could have stayed in my old job for the maternity pay, but I was so unhappy and was sick of having my life on hold. I only qualify for maternity allowance now (£134 per week) because I haven't been with company for 26 weeks before my due date, but I figured we'd waited so long for a baby that if the IVF worked, we'd figure it out financially by doing whatever it takes x
Vseviour - Can I please ask how long were you at the job before starting the ICSI? Or did you join your new job knowing you were pregnant? How have they been with you?
Only because I have an interview soon and I am really hoping I get the new job. I'm no where near doing IVF but we are starting clomid as soon as AF arrives again. Obviously I won't be mentioning this at the interview, just wondered how they were with you?

Hi ladies.
Don't worry PM - you have every right to moan and I think most of us would be doing exactly the same in your position. I can't understand why you keep being shoved from pillar to post. Hugs.
Mrs Davo - hope the clomid works for you. As you say, at least you know your eggs can turn into babies just a case of getting the little things out!
FP - congratulations on your injection!
Can anyone tell me what to expect next please.
I have had bloods, internal/external scan, HSG and DP has had his SA (second one in a few weeks time).
We have seen the FS in September who gave us a course of action (that didn't work) and we are seeing him again early March.
What will happen at this appointment - do you think we will get a referral - what does that mean?
sorry for the questions, I am being very impatient now!
xx
ETA: Is there a standard eligibility criteria that PCT's use?
x0 -
Rg what a great lot for you, wishing you and the others well.
Mrs d I really hope clomid works for you.
Lm thanks, its a month tommorow since I found out my fs was leaving and still know here near starting treatment again or even stopping the bleeding.im taking iron but feel so tired and drained. The nurse at my gp was ment to get my gp to call me as I need another smear but can't when your bleeding, know ones called me back either0 -
Hugs Part Mouse, I would be moaning lots too if I was you. Did you write a letter in the end?
Hope your appointment comes through quick now Skintt after a wasted journey
Hope the clomid works Mrs Davo
Good luck to those applying for new jobs, go for it!
AFM: Have just booked the scan to check for PCOS for in two weeks time. Also have booked an appointment with the fertility specialist at the hospital for the start of March.
Have any of you ladies had a scan for pcos and does it matter where you are in your cycle? AF should have begun this week but typical it is now having a messed up cycle so it will be just my luck it turns up when I have my appointment. Hoping there may be some info when my confirmation letter arrives.
Also I just wondered how you ladies manage to get around missing work to attend appointments? I know some people on these boards are also teachers, my school makes you show the appointment letters as proof you have a genuine appointment even if it is in one of my free periods!!!0
