Am playing forum bingo...just awarded myself 10 points for spotting an incredibly patronising "when you young people have children you'll understand". Tempted to make this into a drinking game.

    Hi Skint_Catt

Following high prolactin levels I had to go for an MRI to check on the pituitary function. It was found that I have a microadenoma, which is a small benign tumour on the pituitary. I had to see an endocrinologist for the results. The endocrinologist said that these growths are very common, in fact they said that if they scanned 100 people, 10-15 would have this, and for most people it is only an issue or spotted if they are trying to conceive.

My treatment has been cabergoline one a week for 8 weeks (one tablet left).

If your tumour is larger than 10mm then it is called a macroadenoma and it may be that you need a small op to remove the growth if medication doesn't reduce it.

Try not to worry about anything until you see the specialist, they will be the ones who will advise you of the best course of action. I was terrified initially as you hear tumour and panic, but after I had seen the specialist I felt much better as I felt that I now had an answer for the reason for struggling to conceive and the endocrinologist kept saying 'When you get pregnant' not if which was nice.

    Good luck :)

Thank you - it's nice to know someone's been through the same. Mine is 9mm so a microadenoma at the moment - I hope it is as simple as a tablet for me. I'm glad your endocrinologist has been so supportive re your ttc. I hope that I am as lucky. I think the Dr worried me as he said I've been referred to an endocrinologist AND a neurosurgeon. xx

Interesting about the met, I was in it around 10 years ago and the slow release version but didn't notice any improvement. My problem for many yearsis this stupid bleeding. I don't have anything like a normal cycle. I know long term it's looking like a hysterectomy.i just fear its going to be awhile till I see a fs.bleeding for so long is sooooo draining.

    Wish me luck for tommorow.

You should be seeing someone dude, if only because of the potential problems of blood loss. Someone should at least be giving you tea and biscuits. Can your GP not give you something or refer you to an fs faster?

I can offer a refusal to test!! Tomorrow is 13dpo/ec. I'm feeling very unpregnant today. I.e. normal, if a bit progesterony.

I just can't bring myself to test. How are you going peonie and wtdn?
  • Test date Sunday but have no pregnancy symptoms at all.

    Don't want to test ever.

No real symptoms here either. So depressing, but I just can't test. I'll wait till the weekend at least. I suppose there is a benefit as I get to stop taking the progesterone and start sleeping properly again.
