Clomid messed with my head, and metformin is still messing with my stomach!

Agreed Tea! 100% agree - every so often I have "off days" with my stomach. Can never pin it down to eating anything in particular though.

Tcod, I'm so pleased for you!
Still keeping everything crossed for everyone starting treatment or pupo.
Sorry part mouse, hope the new go is help, kick up a stink if they're not!
I've got a clomid prescription as the old bloods results show I ovulated once and didn't the other time. Start at the beginning of my next cycle.
Come on board, onwards and upwards!
  • Ok tinks - if you use CBFM with clomid you have to use it differently. Google this - it depends on what day you start clomid on.

I was advised not to use it (FS patronisingly told student who waß sitting in - people get so stressed about it and use all these contraptions, just relax) w*nker!

But I couldn't cope with not knowing when I was ovulating because I couldn't face BDing every night after years of trying and failing at this.

Anyway, this proved that it made my ovulation happen a lot earlier than normal. Had no real side effects other than started to make my eyesight squiffy - they told me to stop takin it after that.

My main issue with clomid is that they prescribe it to people who are already ovulating, which is not advised in the NICE guidelines.

Anyway, what I'm sayin is- for me clomid was a waste of tim
    e. I dont think it's a wonder drug by any stretch and half the time I think they use it as a delaying tactic. However i remember a couple of BFPs from it though (about a year ago). So fingers crossed for you Hope that wasn't too harsh!

To be honest I'm not sure I can really say for certain yet. I've been on it almost 3 months but I don't think it's long enough to say if there's any true difference down to the met with my cycles/symptoms.

Since I started my cycles have been 36/34 and 24, on CD24 today. Thinking I am due on next Wednesday ish.

They are a lot shorter than other cycles I've had but I don't think I can say that's definitely from the met yet.

The weight - again not 100% it could be because of the met! As I said I have really off days where I can't eat much because I just feel very sick/ and get diarrhoea.

It did take a good 6 weeks to feel better on it initially.

PM - fingers crossed they are helpful when you see them.

Oh - got my smear results back today, apparently they're normal. Which I am pleased about but doesn't explain my unusual symptoms. Oh well at least it was all clear.
  • Jammy - I was referred clomid by my GP rather than my FS without having any scans and all and just one blood test on CD 21 it did show that ovulated buy did not do anything else. I had heavy AF after clomid.

When it did not work after 4 months I was referred to FS who carried out all the scans and was diagnosed with endo which has flared up further due to clomid. My FS was asking me my GP has referred me clomid who knows.

I did not have any side effects though.
WTDN - congrats on the frosties.
T2D AND PEA - looking forward for your news with lots of sticky vibes your way.

PM - hugs with problems with GP and FS .i hope it gets sorted out soon.

Afm - looking forward for my first ivf appointment next Tuesday by this time next week I will know what will me the next step when I will be starting treatment etc. my DH could not gets a day off and I m going alone for this appointment what do you ladies think is that fine ? Will I be able to grasp all info or is DH also needed?

    Huge congrats teacake.

Hugs to anyone I have missed.

Honestly, no, not at all. I've been on it for over 18 months and ov. is just as late and sporadic as previously. I still haven't managed a natural bfp and the met didn't prevent the m/c after ivf. It's still messing with my stomach, making me feel sick and giving me awful stomach cramps.

If the next icsi doesn't work I'm coming straight off it.
