Won't be long tea! Why 5-6 weeks though? Is that a normal cycle length for you?

Yup - usually around 35-40 days. Feeling impatient but at the same time kind of putting things off a bit (if that makes any sense). I wanted to get started before I'm 35 (in three weeks) but at the same time I've done nothing to hurry the drugs up so it is my fault that we're not starting this cycle.
  • fairydust and sewit - I'm a week behind you two, with egg collection booked in for the week starting 17th Feb.

I'm hoping that with so many of us getting going in Jan and Feb, there'll be a deluge of BFP's in March! :-) xx

    Happy New Year _party_!

Fairy I feel the same about my second cycle. Before my first cycle I felt excited that I could be pregnant within 6 weeks; I don't have the same hope for my second cycle and have even started planning to move to Australia in summer as plan B.

Hi Tea, I think we maybe cycle buddies as my next IVF cycle (short protocol) starts in late Jan/early Feb.

Yay! We're short protocol too, will be starting stimms on next CD2 which I reckon will be the first week of feb. Have just counted from last time and it was 18 days from starting stimms to EC, I wonder if it's the same again? I did think maybe they'd up the drugs sooner to shorten it but then as I had OHSS last time maybe they'll take it even slower this time round?

Definitely feel different about it this time. Last time I knew, just absolutely knew that I'd get pg. Wasn't even that bothered about testing before OTD as I knew I was pg. I felt all along that I'd get pg but that we wouldn't actually get a baby at the end of it.... not sure if it was a self-fulfilling prophecy that one. Just feel a bit 'meh' about it this time. Not particularly worried (apart from the logistics of time off work and the nightmare parking at the hosp), just don't really see it getting us anywhere.

Hi tea - nice to see you back, hope you enjoyed your break!

Fairy and frozen, I start DR on 13th jean with 1st scan booked for 27th jan. Guess I'll be provisionally in for ec week 10th February too fairy and you'll not be far behind frozen! We can be cycle buddies! I think peonie is starting soon too.

T2D - you defo have to come to Scotland, best to wait til summer though! You can't have lived in London for ages not not visit Scotland before you head to oz!

RG - great you'll be starting so soon! I totally get how you feel re cycling again, I'm so nervous!

WTTN - how are you getting on with the DR?

Isla - almost all my friends have babies/kids and I find it very difficult to talk to them about TTC.

I'm so grateful for this board/you lovely ladies for allowing me to rant/vent/share fears with. We've not told anyone we're going again so you guys and the docs are the only ones who know. Hope you can all keep a secret! ;)

In other news, I'm getting the endo scratch tomorrow! Eek! I'm quite nervous, mostly about it hurting. T2D - I think I remember you had it done, how much did it hurt?

I'm nervous too I think. This is still really my first cycle in a way - we have never made it past egg collection! Maybe that's why I'm so tense.

The endo scratch - well, I'm probably not the right person to ask. You probably wont have the 90 minutes poking around looking for your cervix thrown in, but on the flip side you may not have the gas and air either! But, the truth is that yes - it probably does hurt a bit. But not a lot.

They have to slightly open the cervix (which is what your monthly cramps are doing) with a slim catheter, so that slightly hurts, then do the scratch, which also feels like sharp cramps. However, it doesn't get too bad, I think part of the tension is the fear of it being really painful, but it really doesn't get bad, and doesn't last very long.

The usual advice applies - try to relax! It does really make a difference. And don't forget to breathe. Shave your legs, and bring some socks as it can be cold. Funny how unshaven horrible legs bothered me more than other things!
