I took my first tablet last night but I had a bit of a shocker when I read the side effects, there is an extra warning about the following potential issues.

Abnormally high sex drive / Addictive gambling / Excessive eating or spending

Sounds like my kind of Saturday night.

  • Congrats Gelly.

Chickpea Big hugs, I'm so sorry, was hoping you had a sticky one.

Saw our FS this morning to discuss our last IVF cycle. She wants me to try a higher dose of Gonal-F and to do ICSI as we had so few eggs and embryos last time. We'll start again in January/February.

  • What dose were you on last cycle RG? How long do you have to take off between cycles? Nice to think you can start again soon. How are you feeling about it all? Our clinic were quite vague and just said 'a couple of months'. We have a review app. booked for Jan now. Not sure what they can say but have to try.

Also Chickpea, didn't say before but was very sad to hear your news. Take care of yourself and be as selfish as you need, it's such a difficult time.

    Hey WW, how are you?
Our FS summarised what happened during our cycle and what to do differently during our next cycle. She couldn't really explain why certain things happened (low ovarian response, late fertilisation, no BFP) just make suggestions. I was on 100iu Menopur as I have polycystic ovaries and at a higher risk of OHSS. She also recommended leaving 2 AF's (excluding one at end of IVF) before starting again so I was relieved we could have a break over Christmas but not wait too long in the new year to start again. Only problem is Gonal-F comes in pens not vials and I can't get my head around using them! I'll have to get my BIL to give me an injection lesson at Christmas .

Oh Chickpea, I'm really so saddened to read your news.

All I can say is be kind to yourself & OH over the difficult coming months. It doesn't feel like it right now, but one day it will be just a little easier.

Angel - hope you have a good festive break, will be nice just being the two of you. x

Tea - nice to see you again, hope you can stick around x

RG - the gonalF pens are a doddle, sooooo easy, you will have no problems. Its good that they would like to change things up a bit, fingers crossed the tweaks will work.

WW - feel free to ask loads of questions at your review. I asked about everything from doses of meds, numbers/quality of all eggs/embies, was the lining ok, was the transfer ok, was the sperm ok, immune issues, should we look at DNA frag testing, were we genetically incompatible etc. Although she answered everything with either a no, or everything was fine and she wouldn't change anything, i still appreciated the chance to ask. She did recommend that we think about an endo scratch, which we are going to go ahead with. x

Skint_Catt - hope the next test has better news for you. x

Danielly - sorry about the swelling, but good you now have a treatment and a diagnosis which might explain things. x

No fertility related stuff from me. AF still MIA, had a disastrous day so far - shower is broken, our gate blew off, the dog has diarrhea and my train was announced on one platform at the station and left from a different one so I was late for work too. And now I have a churning stomach, feel sick and dizzy and bloated and I have to do a work Christmas thing this afternoon.

Its like we found out our fertility is crap and everything else decided to be crap too.
