    Congratulations gelly.

So sorry to hear your news chickpea. Its so unfair.

Angel - glad the surgery went well. Fingers crossed for the BFP.

I agree. 2013 sucks the big one. Between health problems and zero sperm counts and family stuff, the only good thing is getting our dog. Will be glad to see the back of it and am hoping 2014 is bettee

  • Hi all,

I've been away from the thread for about a month and only caught up with the last few pages...

Chickpea, I am so sorry for you. I can only imagine you are in bits. Massive hugs ♥

TTC has kind of been on hold as I have been waiting for an MRI head scan and appointment with an endocrinologist as my FS wanted to get my high prolactin level checked. I had the MRI end of Nov and I saw the endocrinologist on Friday and she confirmed that I have a small (non-cancerous) swelling on my pituitary gland which explains the increased prolactin but the treatment is medication (cabergoline) one a week for the next 8 weeks and this should reduce the prolactin level which will assist my fertility as prolactin supresses oestrogen (or something like that!).

The Dr was actually a bit of a miserable cow but one nice thing (that I reeeeaaallly trying not to get too excited about) is she kept saying 'WHEN you get pregnant' and not IF which has cheered me up.

I took my first tablet last night but I had a bit of a shocker when I read the side effects, there is an extra warning about the following potential issues.

Abnormally high sex drive / Addictive gambling / Excessive eating or spending

What the?!? The things we do hey!

Second prolactin test slightly higher than the 1st - over 1000ml/whatever :( Have to come off my SSRI anti-depressants to see if they are the problem. Another prolactin blood test on Christmas Eve. I'm going to be evil until then :wall:
