Hi Star, sorry about your husband's count. I know I've annoyed when I think how long I had to wait for a referral.

Welcome LA, I think every IVF clinic is different. So far my appointments have been:
*Open evening where they explained the process.
    *Blood & SA test.
*Appointment with nurse to discuss medical history and to make sure all the forms are filled in.
    *Injection instructions.

Which takes me to: at today's meeting I learnt about injecting the drugs and I found out I've been put on the short protocol. So I start on my next period and will have the eggs collected in mid-December. :T

Well done WW. I'll be keeping everything crossed for you. How long do you have to rest for.

  • star big hugs. How unbeliveably frustrating for you.

PM & code how are you today?

Derby how are you? Still have everything crossed for you.

WW exciting! Sedation is fab :D. Do you know how many eggs were collected?

 Hi Loveactually I hope your stay is short. At my first appointment we saw the FS and nurse and went over our medical histories and treatment plan. The nurse showed me how to inject myself. We filled in loads of consent forms. I also had a baseline scan and collected the stimming drugs; this wasn't planned as I did short protocol starting on CD4 and our initial appointment was on my CD3 so we decided to start our first cycle straight away.

  • Thanks peonie and rowinggirl for your replies.

My appointment is in afternoon so not an open evening I think.
And we are also asked to get an ultrasound for myself and a SA for my husband.

Just hoping to start the cycle soon

Aaaw it went well thank you, although quite sore still. Just making the most of DH looking after me.

How are you? Have you decided if you will test early?

Thanks Peonie, they said no driving, cooking or cleaning today or tomorrow which is fine by me. Exciting that you will start so soon, I always think the short protocol sounds better as not so drawn out.

9 collected today, very worried that none will fertilise though as it was too early to tell the quality. Literally cannot wait for that call, just want to know either way.

    Welcome loveactually x

WW I have my fingers crossed for you. Eight eggs sounds fab and hopefully you'll have embryos tomorrow. Are you at home tomorrow with your DH?

Hi ladies, and especially welcome to loveatually. I'm on the phone but will update you to the front page when I get on the laptop.

Congrats ww! Didn't realise you were fully cooked already. :) do you know how many eggs they got?

Meeting today went fine. Had a surprise colposcopy (got to love it) and doc said there was clearly a problem. He thought about trying to dilate, but decided it would be better under a general so I'm up for operation number 5 on Monday. He said the procedure will take up to two hours, so I'm much happier to do it in hospital. But he was super optimistic. He says he will hand me back to the fs straight after and we can potentially look at a fet in early January. Basically as soon as my cycle allows.

I have thrush at the moment, (sorry -tmi) so the whole process took place with canestan and mess... Seriously I wish I could retain a modicum of dignity from time to time!

So I was well pleased. Then had a bit of a fight with insurance who are saying they may not cover the procedure ( as it's a repeat of a procedure done only weeks ago) but I've decided if they say no I'm not going to fight and will just pay myself. I find fighting with insurance companies deeply upsetting and you always lose. But I'll find out what the cost are and then decide.

    So onwards I go
