    Morning all,

TL how awful, does nothing for your motivation does it? Have you been covering a higher role but never been upgraded?
I remember a time when I'd only been with a new company 6 months and they announced redundancies and a restructure. I was sure I'd be last in first out, but managed to survive. It does nothing at all for team moral though in the mean time. Everyone sizing each other up each others jobs.

Birdie I've got a lot of friends who over share everything, and I mean everything... "look at the lovely dinner I've made for OH and my babies, plus I've already changed the beds, mown the lawn etc etc etc...."
I'm hoping to be a little more low key! We've not even gone fb public with our pregnancy.
Although I can see people get all proud and want to show off their lo's!!

As for me, ydy was a bit cr*ppy. Sooooo tired from the weekend and my bump was aching all day, doing lots of stretching I assume.
Woke up a lot brighter today and looking forward to my yoga class tonight.

I do wake up in pain though, terrible hip and back pain. I have a long pregnancy pillow and use that (so much better and comfy!) but still wake up with aches and pains, I suppose its just one of those things! :rotfl:

Mrs Bunny, I don't know if this will help, but in my first pregnancy I had really bad pelvic pains - found it difficult to turn over at night (so far this time it's not so bad...*fingers crossed*). Making the bed softer helped a lot. I did it by putting a spare duvet under the bed sheet.

Poo to the job TeamLowe but at least the timing is fairly good. Just count down your time to mat leave and do the bare minimum of work you can.
Although how they can expect anyone to do a good job when they have to 're-apply' is plain silly.

Well done on Team Blue fran-o :) Just remember that with baby boys you need to point their willy down when putting a nappy on and get prepared to have lots of toy cars. Other than that DS likes putting on my makeup, carrying my handbag and playing dress-up too :D
I'm currently worrying about turning into a proper Mum-type when baby's born. So many friends have turned from sensible ladies into sappy Mums only ever posting 'Mom Memes' and rambles about their baby's progress on FB constantly. Is this something that just happens or can you fight it?!
You can fight it Birdie :)
My nct group set up a private group so we can gush/complain/ask opinions on there without subjecting everyone else :p Although thankfully none of us post just for the sake of it.

I was thinking this morning that it won't be long before my 'normal' clothes have to be packed up and popped up the loft. While I'm still able to fit in most of them (I look like I've eaten all the pies :rotfl:) I might as well get organised and only have bump friendly and feeding friendly clothes ready which will no doubt make a lt of space!
Currently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck :)

One of my best friends has just had an early miscarriage. So I'm now a bit of a crying mess. Just brings everything back and I'm so sad for her.

On positive news I'm still feeling really sick which hopefully is a good sign for me.

Having some niggly aches/twinges? near my ovaries and as much as friends/family tell me it's growing pains i can't ease my mind.... they're not painful as such just a bit achy and worrying.

Has anyone else experienced such niggles???

Claire so sorry to hear about your friend, at least she'll have someone around who understands what she's going through :o how long is it until your anamoly scan? I felt like I could really relax after that x x

Sjlou the problem is my job was career graded, so started at scale 4 so that in theory i could get experience and knowledge and work up to scale 6. career graded isn't allowed in the new structure so my boss had to pick a payband, and he went with scale 6

Birdie I've found its more the mothers who have nothing else going on that get a bit obsessed with their motherhood. if you keep being a mother as part of your personality rather than having it be your personality, you should be able to strike a balance :)

Hi McRach I've added you to the list. I'm currently having stretchy type niggles low under my bump, feelings like something is trying to push out sometimes!

lovely to see you over here McRach, have you had your scan?

random niggly pains seem to be about par for the course. i can't stand up too quickly in the morning off the toilet otherwise i get a wave of pain from my thighs to my belly button

forgot to say before...over the weekend i was feeling really uncomfortable, like when you eat far too much and lots of heartburn. and today i've felt kicks right up under my ribs. clearly little miss has decided to make some room for herself and doesn't care about squishing organs to do it lol

Big hugs Claire, how awful for your friend, but for you too. :(

I agree with TL though, you'll relax a lot after the anomaly scan, I felt like a huge weight was lifted seeing that he was well and happy and we could really start to prepare for his arrival after that! No idea how women coped in the days before scans... they just had to have faith that everything was OK but wow, that must have been difficult!

Nice to know I can fight the Mum-ness. :o I really don't like seeing people referred to as Mummy and Daddy by other adults either, makes my skin crawl. Why does the fact that I'm a parent now remove my previous identity that has served me well for 28 years?! I think a lot of it is ingrained bitterness from struggling to conceive that things still bug me now (like saying 'Hi Mummies, can anyone help...'- it's immediately alienating everyone else) but I just can't seem to get over it. :o

Nice to see you here McRach! The pains will come and go all the time. Baby wants to be happy and comfortable and really doesn't care about how you feel! Pretty much a warning of things to come I guess! ;)
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!
