Took two trips to the GPs but got my MatB1! Phew.
LauraBlue - I recommend the Baby on Board tube badges. I wear mine everyday and it just makes it much easier to ask for a seat if I need one (though I'm often offered one before I ask!). I often feel fine standing but did get a shove earlier in the pregnancy which just made me realise having a seat keeps me safe out of the way from all the pushing etc so I try and get a seat however I'm feeling. They give them out at big stations.
Team Lowe - hope the job stuff isn't too much of a headache. My manager told me confidentially that a job restructure is going to happen soon (everyones aware of potential changes but he's kindly told me a bit more). Trouble is the timescale is unknown and likely to happen either just before or while I'm away. Its a bit of a headache but I'm trying to just focus on me and baby and my current role til anything becomes concrete. Good luck with yours.
Claire - best wishes to you and your friend. One of my friends has recently confided in me about an early miscarriage (as she knew I had one) and it has brought difficult memories and feelings back. Make sure you are getting support as well as supporting her x

Very weird thing this morning following my dream... My colleague who was pregnant and convinced she's having a boy started telling me about her dream last night where she had a girl! It sounded like the same dream as mine but I hadn't even mentioned mine. Spooky! Wonder if it means anything!

I haven't really been feeling pregnant recently either however I was pretty sick last night after feeling nauseous for a while in the day.
It seems to come and go. Although we've started buying stuff won't be fully relaxed til 20 week scan happens like many if you have said!

sjlou - thanks for updating me ;)

Claire - really sorry to hear about your friend…….. How awful at any stage of pregnancy…. :(

Teamlowe - I missed the stuff about your job - are you officially at risk and/or definitely out of a job? :(

Faith2009 - I think those feelings are just the feeling that something is actually in there, all of your organs and things are all moving to make way for the baby whilst it grows and the more in tune you are with your body, the more you'll feel. I'm sure it's absolutely normal and nothing to worry about.

Jenni - hope you're feeling better. You did the right thing to postpone your scan. You'll both enjoy it more when you're feeling a bit better, and I'm sure it was in the wrong position to find out the sex today anyway ;)

Birdie - Those fb post are very annoying especially to people trying to conceive and as we took 18 months the first time, we know first hand how insensitive people can be without even thinking about it…… :)

Laurablue - sorry you had to stand on the tube - you can get little badges to say you're pregnant if you'd feel comfortable wearing it (as birdie said - I'm reading back….). I agree that most people don't want to offend anyone by offering a seat if they're not sure that you're pregnant. Imagine, 6 months ago if someone offered you a seat - you're not old, not pregnant, would you have been offended :rotfl: I'm not very interested in work either! I've already worked out my leave date and my return date, lol seeing as I was bored. No one at work knows yet as the boss is off til next week and felt she needed to know first…… :)

Smlsave - have a great time at butlins, hope the weather stays dry for you guys :)

Squirrel - will look out for mothercare events - we did one last pregnany and did buy a lot from there. Really like mothercare, their service really is second to none…… did you buy any goodies? :D

Lushlifesaver - I wouldn't mention the pregnancy to your lender. I don't think it would actually make any difference, but it's not relevant, so I'd keep shtum (not sure I've ever typed that out before, lol) Hope you can complete and get moved in for xmas! How exciting! :)

Pumpkin (aka birdie) - As long as the dress is comfy, who cares ;)

Is anyone collecting those little urine sample pots - I think I've got about 8 in the house now, lol. I know some areas expect you to wash them and re-use them. I was never asked to do that before, but I'm collecting them just in case….. :rotfl:

On another note, I'm really struggling to eat healthy foods. I'm craving junk and starving all the time. I don't know if due to my dieting for the last year and a bit. It's like I have a licence to eat what I want again, but I know I need to start reigning it in or I'll gain all my weight loss back!

Lush - i found out i was pregnant after we had the offer accepted on our house, and i was very naughty and didn't tell the mortgage people as i knew i wouldn't be anywhere near being on mat leave when we completed.
However, reading the mortgage and endowment board, mortgage companies aren't allowed to discriminate against you for being on mat leave and most just ask for a letter from your employer saying what your wage will be when you go back.
I really recommend reading those boards - you can get a much better idea of how the whole thing works and i'm sure there'll be plenty of people talking about their experiences with the new help to buy

sjlou - i'm afraid i was told at my 16 weeks that they're all like that. they're important tests, blood pressure for signs of pre eclampsia and urine for UTIs as well as protein (sign of kidney issues), they just don't take very long lol

Been this morning to get my flu jab and i've got to say, i'm loving the medical advice i'm getting whilst pregnant. last time i saw the doctor for a virus i was told 'just put your feet up and get the tv on', the nurse today said 'afterwards you may feel run down and have a bit of a temperature, so just milk it' :rotfl:

Thank you for your responses - most helpful.

Twigpig - loving its not just me who sometimes types the word 'shtum'!

Bf's family have offered us another route towards getting a smaller mortgage; something they have said we aren't to shout about (not like we would anyway!) if they do decide to do it as it's not something they'd do for just anyone/any of us. Feel very, very blessed to have such amazing families on both sides :) Although my dad needs a massive kick up the tush for some bits!

Have a little list building for the poor mw in a couple of hours: heartburn remedy, skin, flu jab and other little snivvly bits.

I want the 20week scan to rush around so I can go crazy with cuteness. Got some cute material to make a few changing bag accessories with yesterday. However, now I don't want to go and buy too much for the nursery as the new house room is a different size hahah. Fingers crossed for Team Pink considering the old wives tales about skin/heartburn/generalness haha. That said Team Blue would be beyond cute in little sports kits and general amazing boy and nerd-ness haha

    Ha that's funny TL!

I've put on 2lbs in the past few days can't believe it! The choccy Woccy doing dah place must have helped lol! I think you asked me a question about it Kynthia & I forgot to reply - yes it's in carnaby st, it's a shop & cafe but we hired this 'secret room' which was amazing.

So I'm now finally 2lbs more than when I got pg. feeling rather ill today though so hope I can keep it up/on!

We'd love to buy a house but need to save a huge deposit as it's so expensive here, I was just doing a few searches this morning & finding a 3bed under £250k is almost impossible.

Lush- I'm also wondering if the old wives takes are true, everyone has been saying I must have a girl as I've been so ill, I said to DH I hope they're right purely as if this is a boy but then we were to have a girl in the future I'd be scared as to how much more sick I could get! I think it's a load of rubbish but is fun to guess!

those of you who have flu jab appointment - did you need to phone the docs and organise yourself or does the mw refer you ?

I've not long changed doctors ( only when I found out I was pregnant) so don't really know what the process usually is..
