  • welcome to the newcomers!

okay so far iv felt a bit of movement, usually when I'm in bed at night or in the morning. just flutters! but tonight iv felt what feels like some really big kicks! I lay on my back and I could see my stomach moving, like bobbing up and down! it's really scared me, is that normal? I know I'm probably being daft, it's just iv never felt big movements before, if they start getting really wriggly all of a sudden does that mean they're in distress or something? argh I don't know if I'm being silly! :(

Hello newbies :) I can't believe I'm 24 weeks tomorrow. This bump has been going bonkers the last couple of days, she has figured out how to jump about constantly!

    Hope everyone is good :)

Hi firey I'm on the next thread now but read this one everyday still and wanted to reassure you that my baby does that every so often - just this evening it felt like she was having a party inside my tummy!! Sorry if this is TMI but I've had really bad wind this evening and I didn't know whether it was her reacting to that lol :p

So I'm sure your baby is fine - but it's always a good idea to phone your midwife if you are worried xxx

    thank you!

it's just so weird how one minute I felt nothing next minute I felt these huge kicky movements and could see my stomach moving! it didn't hurt one bit, and she's calmed down a bit now, argh it's just so hard when you don't know what is normal!
  • Did you eat anything particularly sugary in the half hour previous to this? It might have been a sugar burst that set baby off :) my OHs mum has a pregnant friend at work and she ended up going to hospital because she ate a bag of skittles not realising stupidly quite how much sugar they contained and the baby had some kind of mega disco inside her womb - she didn't put two and two together and when she got to hospital they realised it was the skittles :p

Firey I remember I had small fluttery type movements at 17 weeks and then one morning at I think about 19 I felt this huge movement across my tummy & it changed shape! And from then on I had tons of big movements! It can be a bit odd at first and then especially later on they do this weird thing that feels like they are shaking! :)

Fiery I'm just the same - some days the movements are really subtle and then other days I can see the baby turning and feel big kicks! I always like to feel some movement before bed, I guess some days the movements are quite subtle and they get lost in the sensations of rushing around.
