Good luck firey! Are you intending to find out sex?? I didn't find out but am convinced I'm having another girl as this pregnancy exactly the same as my previous ones (so far)....0

Good luck for your scan tomorrow firey.
I saw midwife today and she listened to the heartbeat, which was quite exciting. She was happy with my blood test results too and my urine and bp were fine so I'm feeling quite happy today. Still not feeling very pregnant (just a bit chunky!) but sure that'll change.

Me and my husband had an argument about this when I was 5/6 months. It's because there is not exactly 4 weeks in a month, it's 4.33!
Exactly. Pregnancy is 9 months it's just that 9 months isn't 36 weeks which confuses people! That's where the other 4 weeks to make it 40 come from.0 -

I've only just really got my head around what being x + 5 is... And it took me ages to grasp being 2 weeks pregnant before conception.... And I'm still confused about the LMP due date being different to the Scan predicted due date... So I'm now totally baffled!
I'm 19 + 2 today, that'll have to do.
Lmp due date is just lmp plus 40 weeks.
Scan due date will work out the size of your baby and then based on that work out the due date.
Therefore If you ovulated on cd14 it will probably be the same as that's what lmp due date is calculated from.
However babies can still be slightly different sizes or growth spurts so that can affect it too.
For example my lmp makes me 6 days ahead of when I know I ovulated. However at the scan baby must have been 3 days bigger than expected as there was only a 3 day difference.
That's why my hospital only adjust if the date is 7-10 days or more out because it's a bit pointless to move it about really as it could have just been measuring big or small that day plus babies rarely come on their due date anyway!0 -
Good luck for tomorrow firey!!Our first baby due 25th May 2014 :T

I think period cycle length has an effect, too - so that gestation tends to be slightly shorter in women with shorter menstrual cycles, and longer in those with longer.
In France, they say that "term" for a first pregnancy is 41 weeks, rather than 40, so you pays your money and you takes your choice....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
