congratulations on your successful scan moonbabe.
Good luck for your scan tomorrow Lara.
Hope all the ladies who weren't feeling too well / in pain are feeling a bit better. I certainly feel better on weekends because I can relax more and don't have to rush about, plus it doesn't matter if I've had a rubbish nights sleep. I don't seem to be able to sleep between 1am and 3am anymore, I just wake up and can't nod back off!
Can't wait to join you ladies moving up to the 'big' thread soon. I remember with DS being so relieved once I made it to 24 weeks. Nowhere near as anxious this time, but will be even more relaxed after 24 weeks. It'll also mean I'm one step closer to maternity leave, not that I don't enjoy my job, I do, but I'm being to find the 2 hour each way commute a bit too much already at 17 weeks!0 -
Good luck Lara! Will be lurking tomorrow for your news!!Our first baby due 25th May 2014 :T
Maternity leave fund: £3000/£6000 :T0 -
I just scrolled back to remind myself of something and saw a previous post of mine hadn't been posted - darn phone.
Anyway, it said something along the lines of:
Congratulations on good scans Sunshine & moon babe.
My Secret Alias - that's such a cute way to announce on fb! Bun in the oven, so cute!
Thanks to everyone else who offered their opinions, I think I will announce on fb after the 20wk scan.
I've asked a friend to see if they have any photos of husband and I at their wedding... Baby would have been less than a week since conception then! Fingers crossed they have one.
And I hope anyone feeling under the weather / in pain feels better soon xPlease forgive the badly spelt alias... I am a long time contributor who needed to reclaim anonymity for health/job related posts.0 -
Me again, can I just come and vent please?
I'm feeling very hurt and betrayed right now. And angry. And need to calm down for the sake of my blood pressure. Hoping venting will help. And I really have no where else to turn.
One of husbands friends (who knew about our pregnancy only due to having to plan things in the summer), has tonight taken it upon himself to break our news to a good friend of mine. I can't believe his insensitivity.
I didn't tell my good friend yet because A) hardly anyone knows , not even my grandmother!I was hoping to see her in person next weekend at a party to tell her, we live 200 miles apart and C) we conceived right before her wedding so I'd asked her last week for a copy of a photo with husband and me in (&baby!), so was waiting for that pic so I could reply with "there's 3 of us in that photo!".
Husband does not understand why I'm upset. He had told his friend not to say anything, but husband thinks since it's been a while now his friend didn't think it'd still apply. Plus "They'll all know eventually" was his reply. I tried explaining it was our news to tell, that I've been anticipating a special moment with my friend for weeks now, and after the tests we've had its my body and our news to tell, something joyful to enjoy after so much stress and worry. I'll never hear my friends happy reaction now. This bloke stole it from me.
He's never liked me. And he'll put my upset down to "female hormones", eg, disregarding my feelings as much as our privacy.
Sorry for ranting. I know there are far greater problems going on.Please forgive the badly spelt alias... I am a long time contributor who needed to reclaim anonymity for health/job related posts.0 -
Aw Robots, men can be such muppets sometimes, they really can't help it. I would be upset as well, hope you are feeling better today x0
-
Aw hugs Robots sometimes I just don't think men get these things! You're right to be upset and I'm sorry this has happened to you but try not to brood on it and let it upset you more than necessary x
Good luck for your scan Lara0 -
Well, the time has come to head over to the last thread
Hope to see you all over there soon! xxxx0 -
Hi ladies.
Have any of you had to call in sick because of exhaustion? I got up for work this morning and just couldn't move off the sofa. I feel like my muscles have lost all their strength and I've got the tiredness that makes you all headachy. I've called in but feel really bad. I have quite an intense and confrontational job and just couldn't face it.
In other news...I'm only 14 weeks but think I may have felt some movement. I was lying in bed on Friday night and felt soft strokes low down on my right. Then last night in the same place I felt a definite rolling sensation a few times followed by a few more strokes.
Feel free to say I'm being crazy and naive and daft. It's what I've been telling myself all morning!0 -
Robots that's awful. I would be very unhappy and would be strongly suggesting OH made our upset known to this stupid man. Even if your OH doesn't understand why you're upset, my other half always tells me if I feel that upset about something then that's enough for him to make a fuss about it. You are a team after all.
Derby yes i have had periods of time where I was falling asleep at my desk at work and probably shouldn't have gone in. It is usually around the time that baby is having her grown spurts, so if you're also getting stretching pains then it's probably baby growing that's making you tired.
Lara I am lurking for your newsthen I'll move up to the next thread before I get kicked off because I'm 24 weeks + 1 day today!!!
Still off sick with this bloody hip pain though boooooooOur first baby due 25th May 2014 :T
