  • scan was fine! all was good, baby was wriggling about so they got a good look at...her! team pink! I'm so shocked I was convinced it was a boy, but absolutely delighted all the same.

she didn't show me the screen all the way through, then at the end when she showed me the baby ended up face down upside down, i could hardly even see anything, just a spine! so the picture was very bad, can't see a thing, it wasn't as special as last time when I could see the profile of the baby and see the arms and legs wriggling etc.

the sonographer suggested we have a private scan if we wanted a better experience so may do that at 28 weeks :)

  • Good luck to all the ladies moving up to the next thread!

Robots - I'd be annoyed if somebody told a friend my pregnancy news when they'd been told not to. I don't think men get it, they think in a completely different way to us. OH would have got a stern talking to if he didn't agree with me over it too!

Derby - I've had to call in sick for a day the other week because I felt rubbish, a mixture of exhaustion, pain and feeling sick. My bosses have been really nice and just say 'you're pregnant and if you're not well you're not well so don't worry about it'. I was definitely feeling baby move at 14 weeks, it was like bubbles bursting and tickles/touches but inside.

mysecretalias - hope the hip pain improves. Unfortunately in my experience it only gets worse, but fingers crossed that's not the same for everyone! I use the same tablet swallowing technique as you, except I use juice instead of water so it tastes nicer!

Congratulations on a successful scan Lara.

Glad all is well with you wangdoodle, it's lovely hearing the heartbeat isn't it!

Rasperry Swirl - I stopped taking my extra folic acid (high BMI) at 12 weeks but my Pregnacare vitamins still contain it, so it's fine to keep taking it but you don't need to.

Pleased to hear the scan went well firey, congratulations on team pink!

Welcome to the thread credit crunch.

AFM, I'm actually waddling now, will be 18 weeks on Friday but feel about the size of a hippo already. Still in pain and doubt that's going to improve now. Sleeping is terrible. Baby been very active today, still only feeling light kicks, no stomach movement yet, but it's very reassuring! Not really got much to update about as scan isn't until 25th and the consultant appointments are in the weeks after that. I think it's a girl as although this pregnancy has it's similarities to my first it's also been quite different. Hoping that they can tell on the scan as the 12 week scan wasn't very clear due to my high BMI.
  • Can I join please? I'm 12+4 after my scan today.

Still pinching myself I'm here as on sunday ended up in a+e all day with a huge bleed so had a scan in the epu on mon with one wriggy baby and had my proper one today with a stretching baby. they thought i had an amniotic band but lucky he couldnt see anything today.
