So here's the updated bump pic. Must have been fooling myself that I've still got a small bump, I've certainly filled out in the last 4 weeks! Look like I've been scoffing all the pies! :D

Squirrel your bump is looking lovely, i think it's hard to see on yourself as it's growing slowly every day.

I hate my bath - it's slimline and i'm not and has no handles on the side so it's hard to push myself up and out, especially with my hips atm. but the shower isn't working properly so baths it is

claire congratulations on your new found potato eating ability lol

Faerie i was in the same quandry - had my scan before 20 weeks so couldn't get the form then and was only seeing the midwife at 25 weeks which would have been too late. so i just made another appointment and went and picked it up- although check with your doctors, as i was told i had to see the midwife to get it, went to see the midwife and she said 'i could have just left this at reception for you' lol

had my parents round for tea, so cooked a roast and tried my hand at regelieuse - the technical challenge from last week's GBB - choux buns filled with creme patisserie. they were stunning. i was very proud of my little self but competely wiped out as i didn't stop all day lol

and today will be a lovely day - the whole section will be getting letters informing us that we're at risk of redundancy and i have an evening meeting with some very (and tbh understandably so) riled up members of the public, so that'll be a joy x

Thanks for sharing bump photos ladies! Squirrel, that's a definite bump so stop worrying! :) Mine is a bit of a funny shape rather than the nice perfect bump you see in all those lovely pregnancy photos on Pinterest! :o It's a bit wobbly at the top where my flab has been pushed up, then a hard lump sitting quite low underneath. It's also not really that big, but considering I'm feeling uncomfortable now, I'm in no rush to get massive. I like it when I've had a big meal as my 'food baby' makes it all one uniform bump! :p

I was in a Cath Kidston on Saturday where MIL was buying a babygrow and I said something about it going straight into his little wardrobe so the girl asked if the baby was really young, I pointed to my bump and said 'He's still on the way' and she gave me an odd look and asked if it was early days?! I told her I'm over half way now and she said 'Oh, you're doing well...' which has given me proper bump paranoia! :o

Baby was very spoilt this weekend and has some gorgeous clothes now. :) Went out with MIL on Saturday who bought some lovely things then went out with my parents yesterday who got us some more lovely things! This will be one well dressed dude! OH was also really cheeky in Debenhams (it helps that the shop assistant was a young girl, they always seem to love my OH! :p) and asked if there were any spare baby hangers we could have so she threw in about 10 Ted Baker hangers, saves us having to buy more! :T

I was also spoilt as my Mum bought me a winter coat. :) It was a good deal though as it was from JoJo Maman Bebe and was £69 but I had 5 stamps on the loyalty card so got £15 knocked off! :) Really glad I've got something warm for the cold weather now (and it's got toggles to pull the waist in so won't look too bad if I wear it after baby's born), I know a lot of people tend to just get a normal coat a size up and wear a big scarf, but I have to be zipped/buttoned up, hate getting a draft! :p

Con, I get hot flushes all the time now. :o It's worse if I haven't eaten (e.g. fainting spell in the middle of Sainsbugs!) but I get really worried about going into big shops like department stores or supermarkets now as they're usually too hot and crowded. :o

Glad you enjoyed your sister's hen do Claire, and hooray for jacket potatoes! Hopefully this is a sign of good things! :)

My friend is 31 weeks now and has had sickness the entire time *and* is on crutches due to SPD! Talk about rotten luck. :( I have a feeling this baby will be her first and last.

ETA: Hope your day doesn't turn out to be as rotten as it sounds TL! :o

    Morning ladies,

loving the bump pics! Had a very tiring weekend at the tournament; all my nearest and dearest rugby family kept asking about a bump and then saying I was doing so well to not have a big one yet...made me feel like a bit of a fraud really! Some people at four months have got lovely bumps and I'm paranoid I just look like I'm putting tummy weight on - that said I'm another nocturnal bump lady as come 8/9pm I look far more pregnant!
All this said, today in my work wear I actually look like I'm almost half way there (!) now, all I need is for it to fill out and I will be very happy with a neat little bump. Bf's mum says she thinks I will just have a very neat bump as I lost so much weight and was gyming etc so I'm definitely carrying weight differently now :)

Need some new work trousers as I really can't wear the pair from my suit anymore; I have a pair a couple of size up but they are very cheap and feel awful on my skin so I try and avoid them! Then I think I will just get a couple of smart shirts and maybe 2 dresses plus some jeans and a couple of casual tops/dresses. I don't mind dressing a bit samey for a while!

16wk appointment is this Wednesday (I'll be 15+5) and I'm hoping to hear the heartbeat and get some indigestion relief; I had crippling, tear inducing heartburn at 2am for an hour and rennies took forever to kick in and ease it a little!

Nothing much else to say I think; not feeling too cracking this morning but I think that's the combination of long weekend (well seemed long as lots to busy myself with!) and maybe pushing myself a little to make sure I do as much as usual at rugby plus lack of sleep plus general meh feelings!

    Morning all,

Thanks for the book recommendations. Its reminded me that I need to register for my local library and have a look in there first.

16 week appointment on wed, v jealous of all of you having 20 week scans!!

Saw lots of family at the weekend, which was nice but exhausting. Really didn't want to drag myself out of bed this morning. Roll on home time....

    15+5

    Hi ladies,
Have been AWOL a while, on a lovely ten day holibob with hubby in Lanzarote. Was a bit hotter than expected (or maybe I'm more sensitive to it) but lovely to have a relaxing break. We talked loads about the future as well as escaping into our books and enjoying the island. We opened the envelope we got at the anomaly scan and we're TEAM BLUE. Was a bit of a shock for me, I'm one of two sisters, have two nieces and our closest friends have two girls- what do you do with boys?! But now coming round to the idea! Just have to find some names we like!

Home doing washing, unpacking etc today but out this afternoon to see if I can get matb1 from GP. They said on the phone I can but I only half believe them and suspect I'll get redirected up to the hospital to get it. I'm putting in my application for maternity leave next week at 25 weeks and will ask to finish just before christmas, using up annual leave til I start maternity leave mid Jan (edd 28th Jan).

Am 24 weeks tomorrow but might lurk here a while longer. Have just read back though the thread(s) so best wishes to everyone feeling sick or anxious, in sticky situations at work or just needing a hug! You lot keep me sane sometimes! X

It happened to me in Costco and I hadn't ate yet and was feeling hungry. I went straight there when we woke up and we were eating afterwards so didn't want to spoil appetite. In future will at least have a bit of fruit or a breakfast bar before going anywhere as it was horrible.

well the situation job wise is much bleaker than i thought it could be :s everyone in our directorate will have to apply for a job in the new structure that's at their grade or one grade below.
in the new structure, my job is two grades above what i'm on. so even if i wanted to stay here, i could not apply for my own job :(

I'm just very lucky to have my baby in my belly, as it was always agreed that I'd leave this job after maternity leave. would be horrible if we was still trying :s

I'm also very lucky that we completed on the mortgage a week last friday. otherwise that deal would have been very precarious :s

so as you can probably guess my already low level of caring about my work has sunk even further lol

Glad you had a nice holiday Fran. :) Congrats on joining Team Blue! :T

I'm currently worrying about turning into a proper Mum-type when baby's born. So many friends have turned from sensible ladies into sappy Mums only ever posting 'Mom Memes' and rambles about their baby's progress on FB constantly. Is this something that just happens or can you fight it?! My SIL has gone from hardly ever using FB to posting every day with a moan about sleepless nights or an update on how his weaning is going (because we're all so desperate to know that he ate mango yesterday!) or even how lucky 'Daddy' was because he got a nice cuddle from baby! OH said that if I start doing that he's deleting me! :rotfl:
