Morning all
Sjlou - thanks for adding me to the list
Can I ask you ladies a question? My next midwife appointment is on 24/10 but I'll be 15 weeks then rather than 16 now I've had my scan. Should I push this back a week or just go along as normal? Sorry if its a daft question I'm a first timer. Also do you keep taking the same vitamins when you reach the 12 week mark?
Thanks in advance!
My appt is at 17 weeks as she was fully booked when Im going to be 16 this week.
Wish me luck guys. Its my sisters hen party today, Ive just been a bit sick twice, but just the usual morning stuff.
If I can keep my breakfast down it might be an okay day.
Then in a couple of hours Im getting on a TRAIN. Aaahhh! Havent been on public transport in ages. Only to London though so doesnt take long, then were going to choccy woccy doodah so thats fine as I can eat anything sweet, then karaoke.
Ill then be going to bed if I can even last til the end of that, and leaving the rest of them to go onto a bar etc. So glad I booked the hotel a few months back, didnt realise Id need it for sickness purposes :rotfl:0 -
Debs, my GP told me to take at least folic acid and vitamin d throughout the pregnancy. I'm using the Sainsbury's pregnancy vitamins with omega 3 and I'll continue with them. Don't worry about the midwife appointment, all they do is take another urine sample, measure your blood pressure and ask how you're doing. It makes no difference whether you're 15 or 17 weeks. If they try to listen to the heartbeat it might be a little harder to find, but some places don't even try because if how often they can't find it at 16/17 weeks.
Claire, I hope you're okay on the train. It's better than the tube but if you can get two seats and have a fan or open window that would be best. Is there a Choccy Woccy Dooddah in London as I've only seen the Brighton shop? Love the displays though, but prefer to eat the different blocks in Hotel Chocolate.
Becca, I still find it strange we have the same EDD. I remember being so pleased when you got you BFP which was over a week before me. I know what day I ovulated which means my EDD should be 4 days later. You have a much much bigger and more defined bump than me. I only felt my baby move Thurs evening yet you've felt yours for a while now. Yet two scans at 9 and 13 weeks both gave me an EDD of about 3rd March. I wonder if the initial implantation and cell division rate differs slightly from pregnancy to pregnancy?Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!0 -
I am sick of my bump not getting any bigger! I'm 17 weeks now and it's the same size as when I was 13 weeks. If I hadn't heard the heart beat the other day I'd be worried. I just look like I've eaten too much at the moment. I really hope it changes soon!!0

I thought the old thread had been quiet... that explains it!
14 weeks today (EDD 5th April) if anyone is updating the list
My weight gain has rocketed from a nice steady 100g a week to 600g a week this past two weeks. I'm trying to relax about it but its difficult because I've managed to keep steady for about 3 years after losing a load of weight. Looking forward to getting past the porky looking stage!Treat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.0 -
I've just been studying baby bumps on google and it's made me even more depressed. There are so many giant round bumps at my stage of pregnancy! Mine is so small in comparison. Because of my size I don't think anyone who looked at me would know I was pregnant.
In other news our buggy arrived today! Hubby bought it on a whim because he found last years model reduced by £300!!! It's probably slightly chunkier than I'd wanted but it looks good and couldn't argue with the price!!0 -
It'll grow squ1rrel, don't worry xx
Mine expanded quite alot at 20 weeks, just measured around it and quite a few inches seem to have been added eek
Going to spend the day at a friend's, wanted to wear my slobbing out clothes but couldn't quite bring myself to look so casual - might have to take pj bottoms to change into later there if I eat too much.
Watched Marley & Me last night, had a big blub
21+20 -
I really need to get a good book on how to look after the baby, otherwise I'll have a freak out when they say we can take the baby home and I'll wonder what on earth I'm meant to do now!
Don't worry about your bump squ1rrel5 you may suddenly 'explode'
My bump's been feeling very low and heavy today, wonder if that means there's lots of stretching going on.Currently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck

Debs - I think your MW apt will be fine. If you're worried though phone up and ask for them to move it back a week. Mine was only checking urine, discussing consultant appt, measuring BP and answering a few of my questions. Oh and we got to listen to the hb!
Claire - I hope you weren't too bad yesterday and had a good time. xx
Kynthia - if I wasn't 100% sure when I ovulated to the hour, I would think I'm further on than I am. In actual fact, by ovulation, my EDD should be 5th March. But baby measured 3rd so that's what we have! It is weird though, I feel big, felt movement fairly early (especially for first baby). My first scan gave me an EDD of 5th March (6 week scan) but then at 8+3 and 12 + 3 both said 3rd. Hmmm!!
Squirrel - I've had a few growth spurts that have literally happened overnight! Hope it grows soonI also made the mistake of googling bumps at my stage and even though I think it is a decent size for my stage, google images thinks not! Which buggy did you go for?
Smlsave - book recommendations would be great!!!
19 weeks tomorrow - yay!First baby due 3/3/14 - Team Yellow! Our little girl born 25/2/140 -

Smlsave, I would love a book recommendation from you and and anyone else. What is the one best book for first time parents?
Squ1rrel, I'm 19 weeks tomorrow and really feel like I've grown this week. As I'm a size 14/16 i feel like I still don't have a REALLY obvious and neat bump, I'm still in my own clothes (although trousers are a size up). However it's almost there and it's now enough that last night friends were guessing I was pregnant at one glance. Also normal tights were torture on my waist so I must be bigger tan I think. The first maternity item I'll actually wear is probably going to be maternity tights or jeans.Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!0
