Lovely to see you move on to this thread Sam! Been thinking about you today!
If there's no cause to worry with the nuchal fold figures you'll get a letter in about 10 days with a 1: x number ratio. Mine was something like 1:50,000. I assume if it's a low number they'll be in touch before the letter gets sent and ask if you want to amnio.
It's lovely to see what you girls have been buying over the weekend! It's such an expensive time but so lovely to be buying for your very own tiny person!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Ok, thanks Birdie85, I am assuming high risk would be out of 100 or something. I will wait to see. xx3 Children - 2004 :heart2: 2014 :heart2: 2017 :heart2:

That's the one we'll be getting too - can't wait now:T
Over the weekend we hung the nursery curtains and put the border up plus I washed the carpet. Just need to start getting the furniture now!
We ordered a moses basket from Amazon as bf's mum saw it and thought on me plus it was a bargain so she sent it to bf, we looked and loved it so that got ordered. Only £32.99 for the basket, mattress, covers and a stand!
R.e heartburn; I've had it an awful lot but the midwife said at my 16wk appointment that they would be reluctant to prescribe me any thing and that they didn't want me to use Gaviscon or Rennies as it could cause issues which may out last the pregnancy with regards to over production of acid etc!
Wishing I could just take a day off work when my parents are both at home at the minute on a day which isn't a weekend so I can go shopping with them. Especially mum as I want to ooh and ahh over baby stuff with her. Hoping to get a day like that in December or actually January as dad is away an awful lot in January so mum, me and bf could go somewhere maybe************************************

Welcome Samtoby, great to see you over here :j
It took about 2 and a half weeks for me to get the results back, its known as CUBS in Scotland and the letter simply said you'll be delighted to know you're low risk - no ratio.0 -
Thanks Debs0778 - seems it is different where ever you are. I am down South.3 Children - 2004 :heart2: 2014 :heart2: 2017 :heart2:

Hey all , hope you are well.
I am BUT this morning... OUCH!! I woke up lying on my left side... and couldn't 'open' my arms to roll over, felt like someone was stabbing me at my breastbone/sternum... it took me about 10 minutes of loud yelping 'ouch' to ease it off. It was horrible and I am terrified it happens again tomorrow. I've had pain there the last few weeks but this morning was agony...it felt as if my ribs had locked in the way!!
Is it just me or has anyone any knowledge of this ? Going to call the docs tomorrow but I doubt they can do anything, it's likely just my body moving around inside. I like to think I have a high pain threshhold aswell0 -
Wb Sam
My ratio was 1:170. I think if you get under 1:150 or so, they'll offer you an amniocentesis (only worth doing if the risk of miscarriage is lower than the risk of Downs).Mortgage when started: £330,995

Hi Samtoby.
High risk is anything 1:149 and under, low risk is anything 1:150 and over.
My results came with the percentage (1:10000) and i'm also down South (although more SW)
I took advantage of the Mothercare discount this weekend and bought our first lot of baby things! Nothing exciting really, change mat, nappy bucket(we're using real nappies), hooded bath towels, muslin's etc.
It took me a while to hit the submit button on the order. I still can't believe we're in a position to be buying baby things after all we've been through.

And a VERY surprise miracle in March 2017!0 -
Thanks Debs0778 - seems it is different where ever you are. I am down South.
Am also down South. Got it as a ratio 1:2500. Was told that greater risk than 1:150 is considered 'high risk' which is when they offer amnio.
The ratio means that 1 in ..... babies with those readings will be positive with DS, so the higher the number on the right of the colon, the lower the risk.0 -
I didn't get the full results as I didn't want to know I just found out the nuchal fold measurement, but my friend got a letter saying 1:75000!
The hospital told me if it's high risk they call you. I'm in the south too.
Glad to see you here Sam! Xx0
