I think I've just [STRIKE]told [/STRIKE]persuaded DH to go & look in the store today!

Yeah I don't know if they have sales like this often or not, but I still haven't checked with my friend about her baby furniture business, so think we'll risk missing it (plus we have no room to store it yet) but I've seen some good deals on their baby bouncers which I think is something we could buy now! One was £120 reduced to £50 for example. Plus I need to get a present for my friends 1 year old.

My SIL said sometimes the pattern they have can continue after birth so maybe you'll have a good sleeper!

Just delurking to say that if you did go for M&P furniture they will keep it for you until you need it delivered :o

Aw! We got a waffle material type one Claire it's beautiful :) how exciting you've started to buy things!!

We got 11 sleep suits, a pram suit, 2 0-6 month grobags in different togs, 4 soft books & a stacker toy. Plus a new look maternity dress for me :D x

    Wow some bargains there!

I saw a cute waffle one in m&p!

Our upstairs gets so so hot I'm seriously considering spending a few hundred on an air con unit. I've wanted one for years so seems a good excuse! My Dad says well what do people do in hot countries they can't all have rooms at 18c there, and I said yes that's true but anywhere I've stayed abroad is never as hot as our house! I guess their buildings aren't as insulated and they have air con or ceiling fans or just more ventilation. Even if it's not 18c, which I think in the summer might actually feel cold and I noticed on the Moses basket instruction leaflet it has instructions on up to 24c, our bedrooms get hotter than that & I don't want to be freaking out that the baby is over heating.

This what we got although you can't see the bird very well on the pic!

    Welcome Mary.

Claire, I'd get an air con unit as that does sound warm and babies can't regulate their own body temp well. Also you'll be worried and not sleep well and once you have it you won't care about the cost anymore, and you'll have it for years. The only reason I haven't bought one is the fact you have to have a window open to put out the hose for warm air extraction. We live in a ground floor flat by the river so I'd worry about security and Mosquitos (we get loads all year and I'm allergic).

Becca those bargains sound good. They only do a spring and autumn sale so I've missed many but one NCT region might be having one soon, so I'll keep an eye out.

I saw some lovely furniture sets on offer in M&P but without a house yet I've decided to hold off. Also with a whole house to potentially furnish (we only have 2 king size beds, some draws and a tv worth keeping) i should look on eBay for some good quality bargains.

My second line manager has lost a couple of senior team members the last couple of weeks and we're short staffed. Well she came up to me yesterday and said that she'd be relying on me now and it's my time to shine, which would be fantastic if it wasn't for the fact I'm leaving in 3 months and struggling with the commute due to PGP. :rotfl:

We had two fans in the bedroom in the summer and windows open and we were still dripping in sweat each night. As an adult you can bear it and I bizarrelly find sleeping with the fan on really easy to sleep, even though any other noise annoys the hell out of me! And I know babies are supposed to like white noise to help them sleep, so Im thinking the hum of an air con unit might be good in that way too!

Wow! Im going to work til Feb half term. Would love to finish at Xmas but Im a few weeks behind you so decided to do til mid Feb.

I washed all of the moses basket stuff yesterday, Ill wash it again before the baby comes but wanted to get all the dust from the shop off it!

Thats exactly what Im thinking, and if Im worrying I wont sleep - and Im guessing I wont be getting enough as it will be anyway!

    Oh dear, managers :rotfl:

How are your hips etc now?

I have started getting horrible pains in mine at night. Im starting to think its my usual problems exacerbated by pregnancy as its never been this bad before.

Kynthia I would definitely recommend going to a sale if you are near to one. Hope work isn't too stressful!

claire think I'd god for the air Con if you can then! I saw your Moses basket in mothercare today, it's lovely :)

We ordered our furniture :j didn't plan to but went into Mothercare & they had 20% off the already reduced price so this furniture set was reduced from £800 to £480! Yay! I love white furniture too!

Everything and everyone is annoying me today.. well mainly OH and the dog...

Had a lovely dinner at my parents.. came home and OH still sitting on the couch having done F all.... I asked him to go put a washing on and he threw his glasses in a rage ( not at me) he broke them so I had to laugh... he's now put the washing on and stormed off to bed but I'm off to wake him as it's also his turn to take the dog out... he didn't come to bed til 7am because he was up all night playing his stupid new ps3 game... not my problem he's tired now.

Dog is also annoying me, following me about the house so he has been put in his crate to give me peace.

I just want them all to go away and give me peace !!

Sorry but I had to rant somewhere lol.

On the plus side, my sister in law has some baby things for us, she has an activity centre that they sit in when they can support their heads, she said it was a godsend to her as meant baby was safe and happy for her to potter around him doing housework etc. Also have a walker that we will put in the loft room for storage until it's needed, a bumbo chair and tray and a few other things in immaculate condition :)

Other bro/sis in law are getting us a lovely baby swing seat thing at Christmas time, she showed me two today and I picked the one we like :)
  • Hi girls,

    Hope everyone's well!

Hi Marywooyeah, glad to see you on this thread :)

Love the Moses basket Claire, so cute!

Well I have just been 'pregnancy outed' on FB :( I am quite a private person and have been telling friends and family (who I care enough about) in person, when I see them, then a long distance relative just congratulated me on my pregnancy and not even in a private message. Very cross, but didn't want to cause trouble so just said thanks. But now more questions are coming through, all on my wall! So much for privacy...

Oh well off for a cup of tea and going to put my feet up ready for first day back to work tomorrow.

I can't get your link to work Becca!

Yes I really like it. They had a pink one in m&p but it was a bit too pink and the mother care one had a cuter pattern & was cheaper!

Con - oh dear 7am no wonder he's grumpy! I'm always telling my DH to go to bed earlier too.
