Re car seats /bases /ISOfix - don't assume that all bases that stay in the car are ISOfix - they're not. My pram system has a clip on car seat that belts in, and I can (and will) buy the base separately (£40) to pop it onto which also belts in. There actually isn't an ISOfix option with my (Chicco) system.

Is there no belt in base for your Giggle, Claire?

When I was first looking, I assumed that the bases are the ISOfix -ness. It's only when I dug deeper that I realised this wasn't the case, it's just an alternative fixing method to seat belts :o

From what I've read there's no base it just goes in with a seat belt. There are quite a few mums net posts all discussing how they wish it was ISO fix and then could go on a base so I assume if there was a base it would have shown up in my searches but thanks I thought all bases were ISO fix.

Con I think if your car seat is ISO fix it doesn't have to go on a base, that's just for laziness/quickness purposes, but I'm assuming you can either strap it in or use the ISO fix attachments if you don't get a base but I'm not 100% sure on that I'm sure someone else on here will know.

I definitely want a car seat that can go onto the buggy so it's really just whether I get over the strapping the seat in with a belt thing.

The giggle car seat is 0+ so will last for a while and i guess after a year a base becomes unnecessary as the seat would just stay in the car, and I'd lift the baby in & out more, so perhaps it's not worth worrying about for such a short amount of time when I like the rest of the pushchair so much.

Claire - it looks like this base would be the one? The base itself isn't isofix but once it's belted in, you just clip the car seat on and off.

Omg I love you Becca!!!!! You may have solved my problem! Cant believe I didnt find that before!

Is your Baby show the one at Olympia? Ive just seen an ad pop up on facebook for one the 25-27th. We are going to London for 2 nights to treat ourselves from 27-29 (we only live about 40 miles from London but its nice not to go home and back again on the train) so wondering if we might pop and have a look just not buy anything as scan is 2 days after so I really want to wait until then but might be an opportunity to try stuff out etc.

I just saw it says Nov 2013 so perhaps thats why it hasnt shown up on any posts etc yet.

It says compatible with 'Hold' not sure if thats a new car seat coming out or?? Will keep an eye on it!

Ok so ive found it - the Hold is a car seat that goes with the Ooba travel system. So I will try to find one of these as if its as light as the Giggle it could be the solution. Looks like its out in November.

    Ooooooh no!!! Its £800!!

Ugh. Back to square one. Its double the price of the Giggle.

reg the car seat debate... are the ones that are secured in by seatbelt as secure as the isofix ones ? I don't want an isofix as baby will not just be in my car, he/she will also be in my parents, OHs parents and likely my friends so don't want to 'need' a fixed base as they won't all have one.... don't want to compromise on safety either though....

Yes... or at least that's according to the retired road safety officer who led the course on car seats that I went to for DD1. He said the difference was simply a matter of convenience, and had just bought a belt-in seat for his grand-daughter.

Sometimes my bump goes really hard and it's then that I feel pregnant. Today in particular my belly is just all jelly and feels like a massive layer of flab!! I guess how your bump feels depends on position of baby (?). Mini squirrel seems to be hiding at the back right now and pushing all my squishy fat to the front!!

Well if I go I'll look out for you hanging around the bug a boo stand :rotfl:

I've seen face book posts where people have asked them about is an ISO fix base etc coming out and they've just replied to say no sorry. But I might email them just to get them to clarify 100% it won't fit the giggle seat.

I read something today on a car safety type website that said the same.

I'm just lazy & don't like my hair getting wet in rain as it goes curly :rotfl:

Maybe ill just need to become a pro with the seat belt. Plus the baby is coming in Spring and then it's summer so I guess by the time it's autumn & more rainy I might be less concerned about waking/strapping baby in & out as they'll be a bit older.
