Hi everyone :) We're back from butlins and DS absolutely loved it. Surprising how tiring it can be just keeping an eye on a 2yr old!

Baby is moving around a lot which means I'm running to the loo every 20mins as I swear its tap dancing on my bladder. I certainly don't remember feeling this much movement last time.

You lucky thing getting a free moby emz118 :) Once I got the hang of mine I used it for all short trips out although I'm lucky and we have a sling library in our area so I got lots of tips.
Currently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck :)

Just moving myself as I was on for 15th instead of 5th :)

16 weeks today, had my flu jab this morning and went clothes shopping with my mother in law afterwards. I now have a few acceptable looking outfits... Normally my clothes are very fitted so they're already too tight. Plus the baggy thing is hard to get used to. We're away for a week soon and I'm glad I've got something else to wear :)

Hope everyone is having a good weekend?

Thanks for the list, I'm 23+2 so I guess I'll be moving to the other thread later this week....its just called pregnancy thread isn't it?

Sorry to over-share but the constipation is really getting to me! I probably don't eat enough fruit and veg or drink enough water so it's my own fault...I had some prunes today though!

There were a couple of kicks the other day but movement has been limited since then, I keep "looking out" for something happening but just need to wait I suppose!

There's no disguising the bump now, I work with 3 guys and told 2 a couple of weeks ago, but the 3rd was away, I told him yesterday and he said I look very small for nearly 6 months, so thanks for that!

Apart from the problem I've already mentioned, I feel good and have energy, though insomnia seems to be rearing its head, I'm awake from 2am-4am some nights.

Dad is bringing fish and chips soon, (won't help with digestive problems but can't wait!)

Have a good weekend all :)
  • Evening all! Well we had an amazing scan today at 'meet your baby' in Leeds :-)

We can now officially announce that we are......TEAM PINK!!!

We are ecstatic and ready to get a few little pink bits in - on the watch for newborn baby tights as we know how much of a stress it was to find any for little niece :-)

I was convinced I would follow suit with everyone else on both sides and have a boy the first time round but we have bucked the trend :-) she even waved at us and was so active, stretching in exactly the same way her dad does! ahhhh next scan in a bit under four weeks. Already can't wait to see her again ...biggest smile ever inside and out.

Welcome Eiteews. :hello: Enjoy your time on this thread.

Becca, what pushchair have you decided on.....is it the bugaboo or did something else temp you?

Congrats on team pink Lush!

Sorry to hear about the constipation Jox. I have to say that's one symptom I haven't suffered from, just the opposite actually due to my IBS and acidic stomach. It's very common as when I told colleagues at work I was pregnant a couple of them immediately asked if I was suffering from that! :rotfl: Not the first conversation I'd have but there you go. One lady said she had to eat prunes every day. Try eating seeded bread (seeds go right through you) as well as a fibre cereal like weetabix or cherry wheats. It's also very important to drink plenty of water, as fibre is water soluble and actually makes things worse if you don't drink enough.

AFM I'm still incredibly ill which is getting me down. I'm also not sleeping well which isn't helping. To top it off I think my immune system being lowered from being so it has let a gum infection in which is giving me pain when I eat and swallow as well as referred pain in my ear. Earache is horrid. :(

On a more positive note we might of found a house, there are two to choose from. Do we go for the slightly more expensive semi-detached one that has been done up really lovely already, but I don't like the layout of the kitchen and they didn't fit a downstairs loo in, is on a main road and has 8 steps up to the front door (pram fun)? Or the slightly cheaper one that might need EVERYTHING doing, is terraced and has a TINY bathroom, but is on a really fab road, is almost the same size as the other and we could make it like the other but in our own taste? Dilemma! If either of us has experience getting ANY work done and if the baby wasn't due in 4.5 months I'd definitely pick the 2nd. Any experiences of getting a new central heating and electrical system put in a house ladies?
Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!

We decided on the Bugaboo, expensive but totally worth it :)

Elsie it's taken us about 5 shopping trips to make a decision!!!

An offer on the Petit Star Kurvi if anyone is interested:

ETA: kynthia we had a whole new central heating system put in this house when we brought it as it had warm air heating. It cost us about 5k & took around a week - 10 days. We had to pull up the floorboards upstairs (we were anyway) and our ceilings downstairs were down but I'm not sure what you'd have to do if you weren't doing any of that. It is good though as we know we have a brand new boiler etc with baby coming.
We also had a complete rewire & new electric box which took a few weekends. We replaced all lights & had new electric points put in etc.
If you want any questions answering/approximate costs Etc let me know - we stripped this house to a shell & redid it from scratch :)

That's funny becca as we have warm air heating and I love it! It's the best heating ever takes 2-3 mins to heat the whole house! I am scared to ever move somewhere with radiators lol! And with no radiators you can put furniture wherever you like. Was the system you had just really old or not working or something?

Glad you decided on your bug a boo! Where are you buying it from? We went to John Lewis yesterday and had a go at pushing some around, I really liked the Cosatto giggle as it was really light and about £410
For the whole travel system if you buy online but the only thing putting me off was when I read about the car seat, it's not ISO fix so has to be strapped in with the seat belt and I was kind of set on the base thing.

I looked at the bug a boo and the Icandy, both looked nice but seemed heavier, and as ours will have to pretty much live in the boot of the car that put me off. I also liked the silver cross surf as was also a bit cheaper and seemed fairly light.

Had a quick look at the Quinny but can't really remember it well now.

I also liked the patterns on the Cossatto.

Oh well have ages to decide and haven't even looked at the mamas and papas and mother care ones yet.

Yeah we're pretty sure it was the original heating system (70s) and even the plumber couldn't turn it on! We just thought while we were wrecking the place we might as well get that sorted too.

I'm so pleased we've made a decision. Off to the baby show next weekend (yay!) so might still change haha! I loved loved loved the cosatto but the isofix thing put me off too. The bugaboo isn't too heavy compared to others but it is still quite a chunk to chuck in & out of the boot :s we have a space in the house it can go so that'll probably be what we do with it.

John Lewis pram shopping is so much fun!!
